Advertised as "Berlin Style" Donner Kebabs, Verts Kebap comes close, but misses the mark. An upscale sandwich bar, nice design, but it's about the food. The meats were a bit old on the schwarma - have not been shaved in a long time. Heat was off, and they were not rotating. Meat was served from a container in a steam table. Bread was manually sliced to make a pita pocket (more London style than a Berlin wrap). Beef/lamb mix was decent, if a bit overspiced. House sauce good (tangy yogurt/mint), and with chili sauce, a great combination. Fillings a bit disappointing - iceberg lettuce (!), dry red cabbage, tomatoes, red peppers. $7.95 for the basic Donner. Chips were most disappointing - shoestring American style, not the thick homestyle fries served everywhere in Europe :( And no mayo or chili sauce offered for chips. $3 for a small order. Looks like I will still be going to Al's Quick Stop when I want a kebab fix !
