Houston Marriott Westchase

We stayed here using a Living Social Deal that included breakfast. The location was a little far out Westheimer Road but only a few blocks from Beltway 8 so it was easy to get back on I-10.
The hotel is large with plenty of free parking. The lobby has glass elevators and you have a view of the Houston landscape on a clear day. Our room on the 8th floor was immaculately clean and the bed was comfortable. The only negative with the room is that it did not have a small refrigerator - don't know if it was just our room or all are that way. We stayed on a weekend and it was fairly busy but the room was quiet. The breakfast buffet was wonderful - omelets made to order plus anything else you could want. They will even serve you a Starbucks latte, which is an additional cost. We went to the Houston Museum of Fine Arts to the Soto exhibit, which I highly recommend.

This hotel has been like a second home for me while I was relocating for work in Houston, I have never experienced a Hotel with such a strong focus on Customer service. It seems so ingrained in every employee in the whole hotel, and it shows: Smiles, welcomes, welcome backs, what can we help you with, how can we improve your stay, etc.
For anyone needing to stay in the West Houston area, I would definitely recommend the Marriott Westchase - it will not take long before you feel welcome and home.

I just stayed at this hotel for a few nights for work - what a great place. The location is good, close to food, coffee, fitness gyms - all the things I look for for travel. But the service is unbelievable, the food excellent, and the beds flawless. The hotel building itself is fine, but the people and the beds made it for me. I got great sleep, and had plenty of good (healthy) food.
Ps: I like my rooms clean, quiet, beds soft, lots of pillows, smelling good, and a shower that has enough water coming out to warm me up. this place has it all....;-)

This hotel is in the middle of nowhere. They offer a service to the local mall and it is possible to get the local bus to Houston.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the Thani toiletries are very nice.

The bar and room service are very good and the staff are happy to chat.

There is a bar around the corner called Sherlocks which is walking distance if you want some entertainment at night. They have bands on and reasonable priced drinks.

The hotel is nice it's just a shame it's so far from any sights.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 days using our Marriott certificates. We are Gold members and were welcomed as such by staff, given b-fast vouchers for Saturday morning and were placed on the Concierge lounge floor. The hotel is dated but it wasn't so bad. There is a cafe with Starbucks, a bar/lounge area, a nice space for gathering in the lobby and a restaurant on site. Staff was very nice. Rooms were kind of small but then again, a room is just for sleeping.

The only issues I had (though minor) was one: no extra towels in the room like my profile request. I had to call down to ask for them and then in the am, they took them back from the room during the room servicing. The second was a mis-communication for the concierge lounge bfast. We saw that the door had open until 10am so we intentionally arrived at 9:30am for breakfast. Needless to say that bfast was already wrapped up. Fortunately, Stephanie at the front desk and kind and "on it. She issued us last minute vouchers so we wouldn't go hungry.

This hotel seems to have alot going on. The weekend we were there had 3 different events; lots of people and a crowded parking lot.

All in all not bad for a free 2 night stay but not my mot favorite Marriott stay ever. I would stay again if in the area.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a larger room and get the buffet included.

I stay at this property a lot, and it seems to be getting better and better.

Pros: Gym (Cardio & Weights), Club Lounge, Pool Area, Live Music in Bar, Breakfast Buffet, Beds
Cons: Rooms by atrium can be noisy, elevators slow

The Gym is first class for a hotel. It is on the first floor and has a cardio, pool, and weight room area. There are around a dozen cardio machines of various kinds. All have individual TV's. These get busy right around 615am. The pool area is indoor and outdoor, with a hot tub, and sunning areas outside. The weight room has a full rack of dumbbells, 2 leg machines and 2 upper body machines. The weight area is better than most hotels, and has everything you need if you want to get a weight workout. It's not a fully stocked fitness center with dozens of machines for every body part, so don't expect miracles.

The rooms are neither pro's nor con's. It's a normal Marriott room, which is nice. The bright spot are the beds, which are very soft and comfortable. The TV's are all flat screen. They have connections for plugging in laptops, etc. The connections are a hit or miss on whether they work or not. Toiletries are a house brand (I don't remember the name) which you won't bother to take home.

At night they usually have a singer and one of 2 musicians play in the bar area. It's not too loud, but the bar is open to the atrium so if you like absolute silence get a room away from the atrium. The musicians are a new addition and a the bar area seems to get a lot of use at night, so there's someplace to go other than staying in the room if you want to be around people.

The club lounge on the 10th floor has recently upgraded it's food offerings. There is breakfast in the morning, and an impressive dinner offering in the evening. There's usually a chef in the evening with various offerings that change every day. The hotel restaurant has a good breakfast buffet in the morning with lots of hot and cold offerings. This has gotten a makeover recently and is better than most hotels. Dinner is not a big event at the hotel and is mostly served in the bar. There are also lots of low and mid-priced restaurants within walking distance, and every imaginable offering at all price ranges is within a few minutes drive on Westheimer.

This is a large (600+ rooms) and popular hotel on the west side of Houston. The staff are very good at fixing any problems, so just call and any problem will get fixed quickly. It is significantly better than the local competition.

Room Tip: Away from atrium & elevators. Most Jr Suites are next to the elevators and I think that there i...

We recently stayed at this property for 4 nights. This is our 3rd or 4th trip and we are always satisfied. The rooms are nicely kept up to par and the staff is overly accommodating.

My kids absolutely enjoy the pool every time (the option for indoor and outdoor is nice).
A nice worker brought over a bottle of water for me and 2 frisbees for my kids to enjoy at the pool.

The concierge lounge is always a nice treat as well and they have 2 to choose from (1st floor/10th floor). I've been to numerous Marriotts and this is the only one I've come across w/a chef on hand in the lounge to make fresh pasta with ingredients of your liking.

My husband debated about trying to different Marriott in town and I told him that was not an option because we 'love' the pool. I'm glad we selected this location (again) and hope to return on our next trip to Houston.
