We were coming home from Colorado just after winter storm Cleon hit. After stopping in Decatur Friday night and then trying on Saturday to get through DFW to I45 (2 hours to go 12 miles just to find that 287 had been closed), we decided to backtrack and ended up in Jacksboro just after nightfall. The Butterfield Motel had vacancies, so we stayed there. I wasn't expecting much, but was quite surprised. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, televisions were state of the art, managers/owners? were very nice, and rates were much less expensive than chains in Decatur. With so many people stranded in the area, they could have been taking advantage of people, but definitely weren't. I would definitely stay there again.
We also ate at Romo's Pizza just down the street. Absolutely delicious!
