My wife and I live in Houston but once a year we meet my wife's sister and brother-in-law in Jefferson, Texas for a getaway weekend. Since we were raised 35 miles from there, it is always like returning home. This was our "Jefferson weekend" and we selected a "new-to-us" restaurant for our Friday night meal. "Memories and More" Piano bar and restaurant has been open for maybe a year and a half. Since "fine dining" in small towns in East Texas is always a bit limited, we didn't have the highest expectations. Boy, were we surprised! Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly, gracious, well-dressed hostess. We were immediately impressed with the music - he was very good and playing great songs of a nice dinner. All tables had cloth tablecloth and cloth napkins.Three of us ordered steaks and one ordered fried shrimp. Our meal was served in a timely manner and the food was delicious and at a very reasonable price! All and all, we had a wonderful meal and a great time. We will certainly be going back to "Memories and More" next year. This was definitely the best meal I've had in East Texas in a very, very long time.
