“The Old Hayloft at Kildale”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2014

This place is ace, superb quite location set in the North York Moors. Great access for walking the moors or coast. Particularly recommend Saltburn-by-sea and a wonderful destination, best approached along the Cleveland Way which brings you in the heart of the town by the seafront. Wonderful accommodation set on two floors, just ideal, you could imagine yourself living there fulltime, it has all you need, even a railway staion in the village. Ian the owner is also a wonderful host, very friendly and accommodating. Stay here and you'll be returning every year.

Room Tip: If you want to self-cater choose the Old Hayloft.

Needed a chill out and peace and quiet for a few days. This is a great location , beautiful house doesn't feel like hotel or B&B . The owner Ian is so friendly and his freshly cooked breakfast is lovely all from fresh locally sourced produce. The house is quirky and so full of character that you just don't want to leave, nearby is a Georgian town with lots of charming cafés and shops . Visited Howard's bistrot in the town as reccomended by Ian and had a very pleasant evening. We would love to go back here again.

We were walking the Cleveland Way, and this is very convenient. Ian drove us to the pub for a good evening male. breakfast was good. Spacious bedroom and bathroom, nicely decorated and very clean. Ian's humour was much appreciated after walking 21 miles to get there.

Room Tip: Think that they are all good

This is a great place to stay, especially if you are walking the Cleveland Way as there are very few places to stay around Kildale, a recognised end-of-stage on the Way. Ian runs the place and is very welcoming and offers to drive you to a decent pub for your evening meal. The place is tastefully decorated throughout - in fact I could find only one thing to object to: the curtains in the non-ensuite bathroom are wrong in every sense, wrong colour, wrong size, wrong sash. Otherwise, everything hunky-dory, including delicious breakfast.
P.S. there's also an ensuite bathroom.

Booked, The Old Rectory so that my husband and I could take a trip down memory lane in whitby. I'm sure what ever I put here will not do this B&B justice, but I will try ! the host Ian met us as the car pulled into his driveway, welcomed us and asked if he could help with the bags. as if we were family friends. The house inside is beautiful and a very warm atmosphere. the room was very clean and the bed was very soft and comfy. the host Ian and his family made us very welcome and was more than happy to point us in the right direction to good restaurants in the area and good places to visit. The breakfast was more than enough for any appetite and pleasing to the eye as well as the stomach! Overall we had a wonderful stay and will stay here again when we are next in the area. YOU will not be disappointed with the Old Rectory
