Stayed here on business in Kilgore. First time in a Comfort Suites in a long time! Pleasantly surprised. Renovated, clean and comfortable. Front desk personnel and breakfast attendant were pleasant and very accommodating.
Exercise room was clean and I could tell it had been recently renovated. Machines were not high quality, but worked well and were easily accessible.
Breakfast was average "free breakfast fare."
Walls were thin, and I could hear my neighbor's TV. Not atrocious, but worth noting
Like other reviewers, I had trouble finding the driveway, but was happy with my stay.

Room Tip: I think this hotel tries to leave a room in between other occupants when it is not full. I would su...

Once again I was in Kilgore for kilgore college with some events going on. This is where I always stay when I come to kilgore. It is the best by far. The breakfast attendant is excellent always willing to help you, always hot food. The front desk staff is the best I've seen in a whole at a hotel. Thank you for a great stay.

Entry to this property can be very confusing. It shares its entry with a Chili's and there's no roadside sign. It's similarly possible to mistakenly drive in the CVS drugstore lot unless you're really watching carefully. Woe betide the traveler who arrives after nightfall.

But once you access this property, you are well rewarded. Free parking is very convenient and the handsome lobby with its bubbly, multi-hued water sculpture is overseen by a friendly, eager-to-please, and very welcoming staff.

There is one hydraulically powered elevator for this four-story building. Even shared by the housekeeping staff, waits aren't usually long. There are reasonably priced guest laundries on a couple floors, but vending and ice machines are not found on every floor which can require a wait for the elevator or a hike up-and-down stairs.

The rooms are commodious. With the stark variations in outdoor temperatures during my visit, it was great to have a heating/cooling system with a sensible, easy-to-manage thermostat. The king-sized bed was dreamy, though rather high off the floor. Sheets and duvets were snug and comforting. Housekeeping was particularly attentive and thorough. But, alas, like most hotels, there's not one really bright light by which to read at night. The bathroom was good-sized and well-stocked. The closet, oddly, was at the far end of the room and not by the entry-way.

There is a complimentary breakfast with the standard offerings, styrofoam and plastic plates and utensils, presided over by an extremely gracious and helpful hostess. There was a computer in the lobby which seemed to be rather temperamental and sometimes altogether inoperative and access to Internet Explorer was occasionally unavailable.

Kilgore has plenty of chain, fast-food restaurants (I'm partial to Whattaburger), but you can sniff out some great local stand alone places with great home cooking in the immediate area.
There's also a terrific grocery store across the street with a huge array of prepared foods.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the back side of the hotel. From there you have a view of a thickly wooded, verda...

Stayed at this hotel on a motorcycle club ride. The hotel staff was very friendly and always eager to assist in anyway. The rooms were larger and very well kept, and clean. The breakfast were your typical quick made eggs, sausage and waffles, along with fresh fruits, cereals, and pastries. The coffee was always fresh and hot. The rooms also had refrigerators, and coffee makers in the rooms.

I found my way to this hotel on a Saturday after a not so great experience at a hotel down the street. If I am ever back in Kilgore in the future as an overnighter, I will be staying here again. You have to work your way through a restaurant lot to get to the hotel but once you do, everything was great. Front desk friendly and efficient, room was clean with comfortable bed, breakfast was plentiful and fresh, and the price was right. I slept through the night never hearing any noise, and with plenty of options on the television. Pool was clean, well maintained, fresh towed. There is a reason this hotel is rated #1 in town.

We were in Kilgore for a Midnight Madness softball tournament. We checked in our room at about 4:00 p.m. and rested a little while. The room was spacious and clean, but the comfort was top notch! It was cool, quiet, and the queen beds were extremely comfortable. We then went to eat before going to the ballfield. We played through the night both Friday and Sat. and didn't get to the room until about 5:30 or 6:00 each morning. We were able to go to sleep and sleep until 1:15 Saturday and until 11:30 on Sunday, before checking out. Because the room was so quiet, cool and comfortable, we were able to sleep without noise from the hall, from outside, from housekeeping, or even from each other in the shower. The room was very sound proof so that even when one of us was showering, we did not disturb the others. Our experience he was wonderful!
