This property was way out of my way but the only available at that time in the Houston Area. Very Basic and clean, no frills. Staff was friendly and accommodating. If you need to spend time in La Porte, TX this is an option.

My husband and I stayed here w/ our 2 children. It was close to where we needed to be and reasonable. The place was so-so.... but once inside that quickly went downhill. Cracks in the wall, the bathroom shower had little pressure, and the floor! Oh my gosh. My daughter walked around for about 3 minutes barefooted and the bottom of her feet were BLACK. We had to keep our baby in a playpen the entire time. It was disgusting. Not to mention the beer drinkers that showed up around dusk and partied outside our room and by the pool all night long. Terrible! Go anywhere but here!

Room Tip: No rooms are good. Do not stay here.

Never been to La Porte before and used my free points to stay here and was a little worried since it was an older La Quinta and was only a 6,000 point hotel. Told the kids not to expect much, but was really surprised. Hotel must have been recently updated cause the rooms were perfect with comfy beds. The layout is my favorite style of La Quinta with the open outside that you don't have to access your room from the lobby. You can walk right to your room and the rooms surround the pool and have lots of trees and grass to walk your dogs and an outdoor frill by the pool. Didn't have hot tub but I guess can live without it since I was being cheap with the free night stays. Kemah boardwalk is just a few miles down the road which is a pretty cool place. Right on Hwy 146, but you can't hear any road noise and get a really good nights sleep.

the staff is great and make you feel at home but the hotel is a bit 'tired' but clean. If you need a hotel in the Laporte area this one is very good..close to shopping, NASA, Kemah Boardwalk, and several great restaurants. We enjoy T-Bone Toms at the Kema Boardwalk and Antonios. Antonios has GREAT Italian food and you take your own wine or beer with you...this makes it very affordable..The Texas Roadhouse on Eldorado and the I45 is wonderful and very close to the Bayshore mall...
