After arriving in Laredo, I looked for a café where I could just hang out, have a good cup of coffee, maybe a healthy lunch, and use their wifi. Caffe Dolce is all that and thankfully, a lot more. Like a lot of neighborhood cafés, Caffe Dolce is a community gathering place where those who like good drinks, good food and good conversation can either dash in and grab a cup of coffee or sit back and enjoy all three. Every thing on the simple menu is fresh and handmade. I highly recommend the cilantro apple tuna salad panini, the three bean salad, the spinach salad and the tomato bisque soup. The cucumber lemonade is refreshing and sublime. With a pastry chef owner, there are always tasty treats in the case. I've never tried the bacon chocolate chip cookies, but they disappear quickly. Personally, I love the brownies with pistachios. Once a month, they do Saturday Brunch, which is excellent, and periodically they have art shows and bands. A classic neighborhood café, which I highly recommend.
