“So cute!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014

Prairie dogs are a rarity for me. We don't really have them out in California, so it was a definite treat to visit Prairie Dog Town. Plus, such a cute story behind it's creation! Definitely a fun stop!

“Outstanding adventure”

Do not even think of going through Lubbock without visiting the Prairie Dog Town. This attraction is easy to get to and extremely entertaining. i could have stayed all day if we had not been on a timeline. There is only a 2 foot wall separating the visitors from the prairie dogs. It made a good seat for watching these animals go about their daily life with antics of the babies, alert barks by the sentries, and tunnels being cleaned out This fascinating place is free.

“Must see for kids or kids at heart”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

I will confess. I am a sucker for this kind of attraction, hands down. Have been, ever since I was a kid. This one is a must-see every time I am in town.

Back in the 20s. a guy was worried that the prairie dogs might be developed out of existence, so he created a safe, accessible, and easy to view location for them to thrive. Lots of descendants of the original prairie dogs live here now, and babies seem to be around all the time. It's a nice, quiet place to just have a great moment watching nature in a natural, though encouraged environment.

Go in a bad mood -- it won't last.

“fun for all ages”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

Lived in Lubbock 46 years ago and had taken my children to visit many times and on one of those visits my 2 year old daughter hopped over the small stone separation what a time getting her back. Had my 7 year old great grand son with me this time, he thank goodness did not go over. he loved watching the babies running and chasing each other. I don't think it has changed since we were last there.
