“Great music + friendly people = loads of fun!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 November 2013

We went to the Jam Hole while stranded in Lubbock due to weather and boy, were we glad we did! Everyone was so friendly and there were musicians of all abilities from rudimentary (like me) to good enough to have a CD and perform in public. My wife sat on a couch and listened (while the local pooch slept on her lap) and afterwards we chatted with people until they kicked us out. This is held in part of an auto upholstery shop and is very informal, but the music was fine and easy to follow along or just listen. BYOB--there was plenty of beer and some flasks passing around.

“Ten years of the music you love to play and sing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 October 2013

Looking for a place to sing or strum a guitar? Are you a virtuoso on fiddle or flute? Play the banjo or the bongos? Come join in the fun with the local musicians who have hosted this acoustic jam on Thursday nights since Halloween of 2003. Rookies and experts alike get together on blues, country, rock, folk--just call out your tune and key when it's your turn. Or just hang back and enjoy the sounds under the stars. In a city known for its live music and its wealth of talent, this is a laid-back gathering of kindred souls. You might arrive a stranger, but you're sure to leave a friend.

“Nothing Like I Have Ever Seen Before!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2013

My wife and I traveled to Lubbock to see the history of Buddy Holley and while we were visiting we heard about the Fisher Jam Hole. It is a gathering of local musicians that takes place every Thursday evening from 7-11. I have never seen anything like this before. All of the musicians sit around a table and each one takes turns leading a song while the musicians around him follow along. The music is all acoustical and best of all it is free to the public. I only wish there was a place like this in every city. I highly recommend any acoustic music fan to check this site out... and if you play, you can bring your guitar and join in the fun. Located next door to the Fisher Auto Trim, Glass, and Upholstery shop it is a site that is a league of its own.
