50th Street Caboose has been one of the few consistently good restaurants in Lubbock. Their Mexican food is among the best. That is what I order every time I go there. One of the best things on the menu is their Fajitaladas. Two Fajita prepared chicken or beef, rolled in flour tortillas and covered with queso. YUM!
The only thing that keeps me from giving them a five is that half the restaurant is a game room. The two are separated by the bar, but it can get kind of noisy sometimes. Great for kids, but not so much for the older crowd seeking a quiet dinner without kids underfoot. If you want quiet and relaxing, I suggest eating there for lunch. Either time, you won't be disappointed in their food.
P.S. Note that there are both the 50th Street Caboose and The Copper Caboose in Lubbock. I DO NOT recommend eating at the Copper Caboose. It is like eating in a smokey pool hall and is not in the best part of town.
