My mom was laid to rest here in 2007 and it always looks so peaceful.

“I don't like cemeteries”
Reviewed 21 May 2012

I only go when a loved one is burried. This is not my idea of a good time. Go to Buddy Holley center is you are interested in his life not much here.

“Buddy Holly Gravesite and Hell's Gate :haunted history”
Reviewed 17 May 2012

really like the Lubbock Cemetery! Buddy Holly's grave is must see. People have left remembrances at the site. old cemetery and old headstones. If you follow the cemetery road to the back of the property and exit southward the road snakes around to an area locals know as Hell's Gate. Consists of an old RR bridge with a haunted history. Texas Paranormal society in Lubbock has some history out there. if you visit the cemetery so visit Hell's Gate, if you dare.

“A Must For Buddy Holly Fans”
Reviewed 3 March 2012

My primary reason for visiting the Lubbock Cemetery was to see Buddy Holly's gravesite.

The cemetery is easy to find, take Martin Luther King Blvd to 31st Street, follow 31st to the cemetery entrance. Enter the cemetery, and take the first right, follow it a few hundred yards, and you will see a large sign on the right, pointing to the gravesite on the left. Buddy Holly's grave is in the first row from the roadway. You can park along the cemetery roadway.

If you remember Buddy Holly or are familiar with his music, this pilgrimage is the capstone of any inquiry into the legend of an all American original.
