Great value compared to the more expensive hotels in the area that I came away disappointed in.

Very clean, helpful staff. The rooms with split bathrooms are quirky but nothing to complain about. I was impressed with the breakfast, better variety than a typical Springhill. The eggs were surprisingly good, and packets of Nutella to spread on the fresh fruit was genius.

Four stars because the workout room was too small, and the pool is postage stamp sized. Overall a nice place.

Enjoyed my one night stay here. The room was very clean and neat. The front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was one of the better free-breakfast presentations I have seen; a variety of foods and an enjoyable seating area. Not your typical small tables jammed into a square room with the television blaring over you. Would definitely come back for a stay.

Very good place. Well located on 83 Rd. Reasonable prices. Clean and spacious rooms. Suites for 5 people (difficult to get sometimes). Friendly service. Family environment. Breakfast is ok and varied. Quick checkin and checkout.

This is a really good value. The hotel feels very safe and the rooms are clean and decently appointed. The breakfast is subpar, as is the quality of the coffee, but if you're just staying a short time, the lobby is not a bad place to work and the fitness room is fine. Plus, the staff is very good.

I have stayed in many other hotels in McAllen while down there for work and Spring Hill is definitely the nicest and cleanest; in fact, it's not even close. Simply put, if you are looking for a clean, new, and spacious room/bathroom, this is the place. The other hotels in McAllen leave a lot to be desired. Moreover, it is located in a newly developed area of town with many restaurants within walking distance.

Stayed here for one weekend and it totally exceeded my expectations. To be more specific I have divided my stay in different areas.

Checkin- Check out
Both super fast, but it's really what you expect in these hotels. So nothing really special here. The clerk was really nice, But again, nothing spectacular.
Service----
The "problem" with these hotels is that you do not interact with the staff, apart from the clerk, the hotel was only guests. I do have to point out that during breakfast, the man in charged didn't changed the packages for the juice machine, so not a big deal, but he wasn't perfect. The cleaning ladies did a great work.So overall the service was very good.
Food
All rates include breakfast, which is slightly better than the average. There is a bit of fruit, eggs (they change them every day, bacon, ham, etc...), waffles, bread, cereal, juices and yogurts. Fortunately the eggs weren't the pre-made ones that are even found in 4 star hotels, they actually tasted good, so the breakfast did exceeded my expectations.
Rooms:
As seen in my pics posted, it's a very large room that can easily fit 5 people and is perfect for all the shopping bags. The bathroom layout is very strange to me, but it's ok. Even though is not old, the room starts showing some details that would require a nice remodelling/work done.
Amenities:
There is a pool and a gym, I bet no more than 10% of hotels in McAllen have those two. The gym is small but in good shape and very complete. The pool is indoors which is nice if outside is less than 90 F.

Overall the hotel is really nice, service is good and rates are very decent. Location is not the best, but they do offer a shuttle to La Plaza Mall, which is 5 minutes away.

I stayed at the Springhill suites for 5 days, it is not the first time i stay here i stay here all the time,
Breakfast is always different, not the same one back to back, one day could be chorizo and egg, or ham and egg, you name it!!!!

Fresh coffee all the time in the lobby and tuesdays, wednesdays and thursdays there is a managers reception from 5pm to 7pm

Food & FREE DRINKS!!!!

huge plus for me and my wife, we like out alcohol, they have budlight and miller light, 2 house wines red and white, and sodas, such as iced tea and pepsi.

loved the service provided to us from our FAVORITE CLERK! Tony Galvan!!!!
he has rotating shifts which is good and bad, since sometimes we dont get to see him due his rotating schedule, but when we see him he gives the best service, it was our anniversary and I wasnt very well prepared.

BUT!!!! i told this to Tony and he made sure that EVERYTHING went well for me and my wife that night. he bought us 2 bottles of wine from a local liquor store which he really recommended to try it out and we loved it, not to mention he always goes out of his way to help the guests here in this property.

good job tony, we will see you (I hope) in the next 2 weeks my friend.

I recommend this hotel to everyone in the valley to check it out.

Room Tip: choose the "ODD" numbers, they are more quiet than the even number rooms
