I live in McKinney but have traveled through other small towns and they fall short to McKinney,'s downtown. Downtown has history but also has new attractions especially in the food department. It offers nostalgic candy shops, made from scratch pies, antique malls, boutique shops, bike shops and an assortment of restaurants. You can have hamburgers at Square Burger, a cold beer and beer food at The Pub, brick oven pizza at the Cadillac or Mellow Mushroom. Great steaks at Ricks Chophouse, Mexican cuisine with a modern flare at Salsa. You can also find small coffee shops like Snug where they serve breakfast and lunch. Every weekend you can here live music at the Landon's Winery or at Cafe Malaga. The square is definitely a family destination but also offers great atmosphere for groups of people who want to spend a night out on the town.
