We had a lovely lakeside view. The room was clean and comfortable, and WiFi worked consistently (which we were to learn is a rarity in Guatemala). The place could use a little freshening up but for the price we were very happy. Most especially with the owners, who despite the language barrier (our Spanish is basic) went out of their way for us, allowing us to charge our cell phones in the lobby after check out and offering us the use of a shower, which after a hot day of walking around was greatly appreciated.

Room Tip: Get a lake view, other rooms look out onto the street

The beds are comfy. Blankets are stored in shelves in case it's cold. Two types of pillows (soft and hard) are provided. The ceiling fan can be noisy, but the air conditioning is perfect - It doesn't need to be on for the whole evening.

There are USB ports you can use in case your plug doesn't fit the local sockets.

I think it's cheaper than hotels across the island on its western side for one reason - most people prefer a hotel with a sunset view. Such a view is possible by having a drink at any of the restaurants located in that area.

Don't be misled by negative reviews in English reffering to another hotel with a similar name that caters to backpackers.

This hotel has either a tank-type or tankless heater, not the electric shower head found in inexpensive hotels throughout Guatemala. It does even have an electronic digital safe. You are in the wrong hotel if your room doesn't match my description.

I suggest the management to Google translate in English their replies to non-Spanish speaking customers, as many Tripadvisor users, not only from Spanish-speaking nations, but also from other countries, do read comments and answers in English.

We were here only for one night but we liked everything about the hotel. The location is great. The room was clean and the vew from the balcony amazing. The staff did their best to help and they organized the bus ticket to Belize for us.

After a 9 hour sauna of a bus ride from Lanquin is was great to be greeted in the equally hot Flores by nice staff at Hotel Villa del Lago. Even better was the fact that my girlfriend who was tired was assisted with her back up to our room (the guy carried it for her so thank you for that!). Once in our room the AC was fully on, powerful, and COLD which was a great relief for us.

What i really liked about this place other than the cleanliness of the place and the comfort was the family kind of vibe at the front desk. They were so kind and helpful with everything we had to do from booking travel to Belize, Tikal to helping us find water and an ATM.

The room was clean, no bugs, the bed comfy, bathroom clean and TV picture perfect and even found some English channels. The view was spectacular and i would recommend the lake view for just a little more.

Room Tip: 3rd floor Lake View!

We stayed here for one night before traveling to the wilds of the Petan. It was very reasonably priced and clean.
The beds were awesome and the AC was cold.
Pay the few dollars extra for the Deluxe room. It is definitely worth it!

Room Tip: Deluxe Rooms are the best!
