I came with a group of 52 college students studying abroad and this first hotel was a great place. The staff was so kind and patient towards all of us. The breakfast is AMAZING! They have chocolate crepes, eggs, toast, juices, coffee, and so much more. The location is great! There is a bunch of shopping around and great restaurants and bars!

Room Tip: The rooms on the 4th floor seemed a lot nicer than the ones on the first and second.

Nicely placed in the center of Glyfada city,close to restaurants,shops,beaches and nightlife,but expensive for what it offers especially during summer season.Could be more affordable,while the reception looks very nice,not the same for the rooms.

Public area is quite good. Service is also OK.
But, everything else is terrible. Room for 4 person had no single chair, no table. No lights in the first room. Breakfast was poor. It is typical for greek hotels to be presented with beautiful pictures (probably corrected with Photo Shop),while in reality little of this is true, but in case of this hotel the difference between pictures and reality was huge. A/C makes terrible noise.

All in total we were very disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel.

When you view the website of the Congo Palace you think wow - what a place for the price.
The reality was different and if a hotel in the UK had such a different website from reality they would be done under the trade descriptions act.

You walk into the foyer and you think this is good for the price. Then you check in.

Their website boasts - Personnel welcome each guest in a friendly and professional manner making them "feel right at home" - when I checked in I received no eye contact - the only words said to me was passport with a hand out to receive same and then "wifi is 9euros".

The website says that the Congo Palace has 91 beautiful refurbished rooms. Again the reality is very different. You walk up the marble staircase to your floor. There is rough plaster by every door filling in a variety of holes. You think to yourself at that stage what have I done. You open the door to your room and you think OMG - I have seen better dog kennels.

Their website tells you that the rooms have:-
Soundproof windows - No they dont - this is the most noisy hotel I have been too - do not expect to sleep;
Independent Heating or Cooling System - this is so loud you cannot use it at night - you cannot hear yourself think when its on - and I would think turning it on would set off earthquake monitoring equipment;
High Speed Wired Internet - SLOW SPEED PAID FOR INTERNET - bad;
Safe - Was locked and you couldn't use it!

There is no iron, no coffee and tea making facilities, no bottled water in your room. The furniture is rank - the TV fits into this small space which renders half of it covered up when you lie in bed and you cant change the channel as a result. Its just awful. The carpet is stained, badly fitted and minging quite frankly. The bathroom looks ok until you see under the sink - filth is not the word.

Are there any good bits - lets see - the location is ok. The breakfast is a buffet style gig with hot and cold food. A good variety to be fair and to be honest not too bad at all.

The pool is nice - the outside bar area nice to. The foyer looks great.

Would I stay here again - Never - would I recommend it - No way. Its awful. I try hard not to give bad reviews - but this place is horrendous.

A business trip to Athens and an inability to get home until the Sunday made me look for a hotel near the beach where I could stay Friday and Saturday (any longer and I would have checked out). I stayed here on the strength of their website. Its very inaccurate. I still cannot see how this hotel can be a four star! I've stayed in better tents.

Sorry Congo "Palace" but you are not a Palace - you need some serious money spent and you need to think yourself lucky your web designers have made you look far better than you are. Some staff training making good on your friendly promise wouldn't go a miss.

Greece is beautiful - Athens was a fantastic place to visit.

The pictures I took of my room really do do this hotel justice.

Room Tip: Look for another hotel.

The place was nice. Great value for money. Staff were very friendly. No free wifi except next to the pool. Location is amazing. Next to a lot if shopping centers, restaurants and bars. Good beaches near by. We went to south coast beach which was less than 1 km away
