On holiday yesterday, we tried this place which was recommended for its meat balls. The food was fine, average, though expensive for 4 small meat balls (8.60 euros which means more than 2 euros per meat ball, water 1 litre , 1.70 euros, salad 6.90, a small portion of french fries at ...3.10 euros). This is ok, but much to our regret service was very very slow, careless, and food was brought to our table after a very very long delay and well after we had finished with our entries. We hardly touched the meatballs which were almost cold when brought to the table after such an excessive delay. No, we would not go again if this is the kind of service and cost.

This is a well known popular restaurant, famous for its meat balls and we have visited this place since years. Yesterday, it was an absolute disappointment in that a) we had to call the waiter for service b) we had to call again to place the order for the usual meatballs c) the salad and fried potatoes were brought to the table and ONE HOUR LATER no meatballs. Reminders were ignored. So I called the owner and asked him to give me the bill for the salad and potatoes explaining that we waited for more than an hour for the meatballs. Forget the bloody meatballs.

Instead of bringing me the bill for what we had till then, the meatballs were brought to the table, no apology, no regrets and of course in the end no tip for the absolutely disappointing service (tip is not obligatory in Greece). Even more, smoking was allowed everywhere in line with the whole of Greece where the law against smoking does not exist. This was our last visit to this place mainly because there was no single apology for the inexcusable delay.

We had the meatballs at this restaurant as we had read so much about them. In all fairness we did really enjoy our meatballs and were very happy with our choice. My reason for an average score is because the plate of food was small. We had eaten at Bobo's the night before and could barely walk afterwards. Here, we left feeling like we had a good lunch, as apposed to a big evening meal. The price was reasonable, but again you got more bang for your buck in Bobo's which was about the same price. The waiter was pleasant, but reserved. A little bit of banter between waiter and customer can make you remember a restaurant. The food was nice, and I am glad to have enjoyed the famous meatballs, but the portions were too small and un garnished. Also, no desert was offered.

Otherwise known as "The Biftekakia", this traditional taverna with the consistently satisfying and super fresh grill fare is always a go-to destination. In addition to its namesake dish, it offers great salads, delicious tzatziki, great house wine and fast and efficient service, and all that at very reasonable prices. Try the "ntakos", a new addition to the appetizers which was amazing and so tasty!
