Have been coming to this restaurant for some years now as it is close to my house in Athens & offered excellent quality Italian dishes from day one. Got to know personally the owner Mr. Dimitris as well as his wife July & cannot recall of any visit to Athens without going there at least once.

Booked our Christmas Eve table for a party of four a bit late so our table was in the first floor which did not fail to have this cozy atmosphere of a small family restaurant Al Dente is known for.
Was greeted warmly by both my above friends who ensured they give us the best table in the first floor which was very sweet of them but not surprising to me.

Ordered many appetizers all of which were very tasty & carefully prepared in spite of the fact the menu was restricted due to this special night:

The Zucchini & shrimp bisque soup was very good & highly appreciated by all my family members.

Vitello Tonnato was delicious & was finished 5 minutes after it landed on the table.

The warm goat cheese salad with nuts & fruits was extremely tasty & fresh.

The prosciutto with parmiggiano was once again of top quality which is a clear sign they source their materials very selectively.

The pizza with prosciutto & truffle oil was top notch as well which means we reached the main courses pretty floated.

All 4 main courses we went for ( Risotto with shrimps / Beef with Marzalla sauce / The pork all Tartuffo / Turkey ) were all of top quality as well. Special mention to be given to the Pork dish which was delicious while the Beef was succulent & rightly cooked.

To notice that the portions are quite large which is a pleasant surprise in view of the very decent prices charged for.

The staff is very polite & always present even though under extreme pressure during Christmas Eve.

Had a bottle of Prosecco with our dinner & the bill including the very tasty dessert ( no option was given here due to the special night ) was a mere 180 Euros!

This was the icing on the cake as I honestly cannot think of any other restaurant in Kalamaki or elsewhere in Athens that offers such good quality Italian food at such low budget so I definitely recommend it to any one in search of a good Italian restaurant.

Would like to congratulate my good friend Dimitri & his wife for a job well done & ask them to keep up the good work!

Unlike most places in Glyfata, this restaurant is not on the street (so you have people walking through the tables to get past), rather it is on the hill and has a great terrace that gives some privacy and a good view over the street. The service is really friendly and the food was excellent. The prices are a bit above average but it's totally worth it. Rib eye steak was particularly delicious.

Food is good here, its not too creative but very good! the service could be a bit better but then its so large that maybe what is needed is more help. The music is what everyone remarks about!

The first thing that hits you when you walk in to this restaurant is the atmosphere. With posters and pictures from good old Italian movies the place buzzes with the feeling if old Italy. The cuisine matches with delicate tastes and good pasta.
