We booked this hotel alittle blindly as we were looking for something nice and affordable in the area. We had already stayed near Monastiraki Square and wanted something along the south coast of Athens.. And other reviews are very correct in stating this is a adults only style hotel, esp if you look at some of the rooms. We booked for 2 nights.
To back track abit, we arrived in the port early evening June 13th and took the #3 train to a stop 1 block away from the hotel, arriving late in the evening, we walked a couple extra blocks more than needed. Crystal blue is on the main street. Our check-in had a small glitch due to last minute booking but it all worked out just fine.. our room 1402, was a corner suite, facing the main street.. i w_sh we could post picts but we're having trouble with tripadvisor , with any picts..
To us our room was very nice surprise, to others without knowing what kind of hotel this is, might be a shock..It is set up for a very romantic, suggestive and fun time.. Round queen size bed, fancy linens, "fur" floor rug and Jacuzzi jetted tub for 2. Get the idea?!! The separate bathroom is well alittle small but well equipped..One bonus of the corner room was a larger size balcony, with 2 chairs and small table, which was great for our room service breakfast (included and very filling) in the morning or people watching at the restaurant across the street, which has very good prices but can be alittle noisy til 3-4am.
The tv has one channel of adult "movies" , free and other cable shows in Greek..
Crystal Blue is located in an upscale area on southern Athens.. Turn right out of the hotel and walk a few blocks. We noticed more upscale shops rather than the touristy souvenir shops. If you need a Starbucks coffee, it is about 10-15 minutes walk away from the hotel.
There is a beach 5 minutes walk away toward the sea.. if you want to get to Voulagmeni beach, take the E22 bus for only a few euros. When we did, school kids must have had a day off as it was literally packed jam full of high school kids.. Voulagmeni is about 9 stops from the hotel.
Getting to the airport is easy too. Go to the same bus stop as for the beach and take the X95 bus. It's convenient and wayyyy cheaper than a taxi.. i think it took us 50-60 minutes to get to the airport.
So we recommend the Crystal Blue hotel, esp if you want a "special", romantic, fun night or 2.Remember to be alittle more open minded when staying here due it's room themes. Or a hotel in an upscale area, close to beaches and easy public transit.

Room Tip: top floor in corner has bigger balcony. Most of the rooms have a different theme. Check-in desk has...

Just returned from a sunny Greece to a typical Edinburgh. :(
The location of the hotel was great for local bars, beaches and restaurants with good links to the center of Athens. We select it because it is located in the middle of Athens and Sounio. It came as a suprise to us that we were staying in one of the most posh areas of Athens in such a low price! Hotel service very friendly, good size rooms clean and tidy. Overall good value for money.

Room Tip: Aim for a room on the quiet side, away from the tram lane.

I booked this hotel vaya booking.com and was 45 euro per night and I compared it with other 3 star hotel which are normal and family going.when I arrived in the room all rooms smelling smoke because usually hotels are having nonsmoking rooms and I asked the reception and she said people are not listening and smoke in rooms (but she said lie because they had ashtray in all 3 rooms that she showed me) I was disappointed but I could not cancel because the cancelation was not refundable). At night too many noises of hitting doors and Adult live screeming voices and then finally I underestood this is not a hotel it's just a hourly hotels for couples. So I do not underestand then why they call it hotel they should call it adult hotel!on my secound night I just came from gym and sat in small lobby next to reception and she was asking me to go to my room and can not sit here although I was sitting and having my food from outside. Then I switched off and I asked for refund so I can move to other hotel then she pretended to call her boss then shw was apologizing that you are tourist so you can sit no.problem but other girls can not sit ( which girls?!I did not understand anything with her broken english and greek accent, what she meant). The breakfast is one tray which they tell u we searve in the room :)) I did not even touch that dirty tray with disgusting staff on it!! Never book a hotel which has no comments cos you will have HIV after that. Thanks my God I've booked just 2 nights and I must go for checkup from top to toe exam!!
