Airy, clean hotel. Very close to the Vouliagmeni lake, a must see in Athens. Lovely, helpful staff. Very good wifi signal though you had to like their Facebook page to get access. We were allowed to use their beach towels for Vouliagmeni. Goof breakfast. Very close to the Panorama restaurant, where you can see some of the most amazing sunsets. Charming walks around the area. Simply loved it.

+ : A simple hotel with all the basic amenities provided. Though in a very popular and expensive area, its prices are very competitive even during the busiest months. I stayed there for a night during August and paid much less than I thought I would. Friendly staff. Room overlooking the sea-very beautiful view!

- : Too crowded in the breakfast area. You might have to share the table with someone else-not something everyone really wants. Also, the food did not taste that fresh (e.g. the boiled eggs) but this is again my own feeling. Cold coffee during breakfast not included in the BB price.

Overall: You get what you pay for-neither more, nor less.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the sea are quiet-especially in the upper floors.

I was there on a business trip / 3 day conference. The location is amazing, 1 minute from one of the most beautiful beaches of the Athens coast, the hotel rooms and conf centre are fully renovated with beautiful sea view, the staff is very helpful and hospitable and access to the Athens Int Airport is extremely easy with bus No X96 (cost 5€)!

2 minute walk to the beach, great public transport or cab into the city of athens- taxi for 20 euros- you can take a bus to Sonio for 6 euros. Service was great. Simply great location and value for money. Also 30-45 min to the airport only. 35 euros flat rate.

My fiance and I stayed here last September and loved it. Now, on our way back from a holiday in Karpathos, we decided to stay for another night in Athens and we were excited to come back to Amarilia.
My excitement quickly faded away upon seeing the dirty, stained carpet in the hallway. There was an unpleasant smell too that rendered the place old and tired. I was hoping that at least the room will be good. Unfortunately, as it turned out, the hallway isn't the problem: the room is just awful. It has nothing to do with the well designed bright room on floor 6 that we had last time. Given the fact that the rate was actually higher now, I didn't expect to be put in this sad hostel-like excuse of a room. The sheets are old and worn down, the tv is ancient, mini bar - empty. We booked a double room, got 3 beds. A king bed with newer sheets would have sufficed.
Value for money is non-existant! We are paying 100 euro for a night, having arrived at midnight. Last week we visited some friends who were staying at Divani (hotel next door). They were paying 140 per night for a real 5 star accomodation. We were foolish in our determination be faithful to Amarilia. It is a shame, charging proper 4-star rates and offering a sad 2-star experience.
Staff is polite, location- great. Breakfast was bad the last time, so I'm not looking forward to it now. All in all, I will never return here. As I tend to travel to Athens on occasion, I'll just save myself the trouble and book Divani next time.

If you want a clean comfortable hotel, great service and in a location by the beach then this fits the bill. We had a balcony room over looking the Sea which was lovely in the evening when the sunset glowed across the sea and coast.

It has a swimming pool and an outside terrace. It was a sun trap albeit it was a bit windy at times. Rooms have all the basic facilities and free fast Wifi.

You get a buffet breakfast with all you need and lunch is served until 14:30hrs. The Hotel does not offer an evening meal. The only real criticism was that the two lifts were small and slow - only a problem getting luggage in and the fight getting down nearer check out time.

The beach is 2 mins walk across the road - the beach is very much family orientated and there are quite a few restaurants and bars.

The hotel will lend you both towels for the beach and the pool.

If you are there on a Sunday morning there is a delightful church, but be prepared for the prayers to be blasted through a load speaker and the singing / chanting to give you an early morning wake up call. Wasn't too bad though and I think gave an authentic feel to the area.

All in all as a stop over it was very pleasant and good value for money. It is in a residential location next to two other Hotels but for what we wanted this gets the thumbs up from me !

Room Tip: Get a room on the 6th floor overlooking the sea if you can. Great evening sunset view

On the positive side: nicely appointed, very clean, comfortable, but not overly large rooms, with balcony and well-working A/C. Excellent breakfast. Not so nice: The hotel is one of several accommodation high-rises crowding a block or so next to the beach, something that was not at all apparent from the beautiful imagery on the hotel's website. Disappointing: Booking.com ensured free public parking nearby. To us this statement felt like a joke, as essentially all parking was taken. The hotel did not even care about keeping some space free for unloading baggage, instead the receptionist advised us that all curb space around the hotel could be used for parking despite the yellow markings suggesting otherwise. Well - needless to say - upon arrival there wasn't any of that space available to choose from ....
