I spent my last night here at this property, after a wonderful European trip. The location is very peaceful and different than the hustle and chaos of downtown Athens. The property is about a 25 minute taxi ride to Athens airport. The property itself sits on an amazing peninsula with breathtaking views of the bay and ocean. The hotel is extremely classy in everything that it does. The room was beautiful, overlooking the bay with a separate spacious shower, and a bathtub practically overlooking your balcony and the bay. The room was very spacious and clean. As a traveler from the US, I was amazed that I had to ask for washcloths to be brought to my room. Apparently in some parts of Europe, the wash cloth is either optional or not used. For a first class property, I would have expected them to already be in the room. The bay deck was absolutely beautiful and relaxing. You can jump in the bay and feel like you are floating away to heaven. The also have complimentary water activities. The spa area was first class. The gym was ABSOLUTELY the best I experienced in Europe. Kudos Arion. What's nice is that you can walk next door to their sister property, the Westin and enjoy their amenities and soon they will be building a W next door and I am sure that will be amazing. I enjoyed myself at this property for the one night I was there and had an amazing breakfast on my balcony, right before I departed. I would definitely stay at this property again.

Room Tip: Definitely a view of the bay and ocean

Spent one night on business. Had the pleasure of having a sea view room. The holiday season was over so the hotel was rather quiet. The room is very spacious and comfortable. Great view of the bay and beautiful and spacious terrace to enjoy the outdoors from the room. Would love to come back during the holiday seasons and enjoy the outdoors more.

Pros: Location is amazing. You do not feel like you are 20 minutes from the chaos of Athens. We had a suite which was very spacious with a separate sitting area and beautiful balcony overlooking the sea. Awesome, huge marble bathroom. Really nice spa area with warm saltwater pool, sauna, and other various treatments.

Cons: Just felt a sense of arrogance from the staff. Being a Greek-American who speaks Greek fluently I found that they were much friendlier and accommodating when I spoke in Greek versus English. Almost seemed annoyed at the thought of Americans, and I witnessed this first hand on a few occasions with other guests. The management also seemed to treat there staff horribly, as I witnessed a manager screaming at the cooks at 11:10am because they were still making omelets when the buffet ended at 11am. The sea water in front of the beach was dirty with some trash which was a huge turnoff. Everything at the hotel is over the top expensive, and overall I just got the sense that they were only there for one thing $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, and not about taking care of the guests.

We had originally made reservations to the Westin hotel next door but upon arrival we were upgraded to Arion. The hotel was lovely, the rooms extremely spacious with fantastic views over the bay and the service impeccable. Our overall experience was extremely positive. If i could find fault at something i would say that the hotel grounds are a bit dated (especially down at the beach). One minor gripe was that the steam room was out of order and that the hotel charges guests for use of sauna & steam (which I find annoying).
The location is amazing as it is situated in a secluded peninsula where I spent an hour wandering around the pine forest and enjoying the fantastic views of the sea without meeting any car traffic. I have travelled extensively to athens (for business & vacations) and find this hotel to be a top choice for me.

We stayed in this resort for 6 nights in a bungalow with garden view. The bungalow was spacious, modern and clean. However, the bathroom amenities should be replenished on a daily basis as per 5 star hotel standards. The bed was made by two twin beds put together so quite uncomfortable. The hotel has a superb greek traditional taverna by the beach. The food was very tasty and the service staff were extremely helpful at all times. The only dissapointing meal was at the bar near the lobby during an afternoon. The quality of the food and the service did not meet our expections at all on that occasion. During the night time though the bar is really welcoming with a very nice seating area outside and superb views. Beach was really clean and enough sun lounges for all guests. Overall our stay was very good, the staff were very friendly and always ready to assist. However, at check out we would recommend that the front office staff do ask guests about their stay. Just a tip: do take an insect repellent lotion if you want to sit and enjoy the patio area outside, otherwise you will suffer from mosquito bites.

This is our second trip. Some things are better, some have gone down.

On the plus side:
- the bungalows are beautiful, very large and comfortable. Their terasse is very pleasant with great view. Bathroom is perfect, although not all bungalows have a bath (so ask). The room are well cleaned.
. food is very good. Breakfast, lunch and diner. Room service in the room was nice too. Cocktails were good.
- Sea is transparent, warm for the season. They are fishes. Private beach is large enough.
- It is easy to get to from Athens airport.
- they put wifi in the rooms, at least the bungalows. It's working well.
- they have a great park for children. Children will also love the cats in the hotel.
- the garden and trees are nice.

On the disappointing side:
- staff is still not friendly, with very few exceptions. At the restaurants, nobody smiles.
- staff is nearly absent on the beach side.
- you cannot get towels on the beach until about 2 pm. You have to go get them at the bar, on the other side.
- they don't take care of the beach like they used to. Unclean glasses and straws are left on the beach from one day to the next. It would not be very hard to fully clean the small beach twice a day, but it is not a priority. Staff go by by thrown-away stuff and don't pick it up.
- some of the sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach are broken and need to be changed. The sunbeds should be cleaned every day, which is not the case.
-they should try to make the beach more accessible to strollers. They are some very last steps that make it difficult to reach the sand beach, which otherwise would be accessible..
- the outside swimming pool is cold, so that in September nearly nobody uses it. The sea is warmer.
- we never saw the manager.
.. a bit disappointing that the heated pool must be paid for (25 euros).

So all in all it's a question of the chief manager giving proper instructions and overseeing compliance.

So compared to last year, some things were better (wifi, food), but the beach that we had so much enjoyed left to be desired (cleanliness).

Room Tip: The bungalows in the 1009 are the best, because you get the direct sunset light.

Dear Val J,
We appreciate you taking the time to share your detailed experience from your recent stay at the Arion, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa hotel.
Please note that we take all guest reviews very seriously, both positive and negative, and through them we are able to seek knowledge and growth to better serve our guests.
We were very pleased to read that you were satisfied with the quality of food, the comfort of your bungalow, the hotel’s location and recognized our child friendly approach.
On the other hand we were very concerned to read that your experience in certain areas caused you mixed feelings about our hotel.
Concerning your comments on the indoor pool charges, we would like to respectfully inform you that as this is not an indoor pool rather than a thalassotherapy Spa pool, we have applied a nominal fee which secures in a way the area from substantial use and helps avoid negative impact on guest’s satisfaction. Kindly note, that this fee includes also access to all the other wet areas of the Spa such as sauna, steam room, footpath kneipp and eventshowers.
We truly hope you will give us the chance to restore your trust in our services and give us the pleasure of welcoming you back at the Arion hotel.
Your sincerely,

We have stayed for the past two years in the Westin but this year left it too late to reserve a room so we stayed in the more expensive Arion. Our room was very comfortable and spacious and the check in staff were very helpful and friendly but, overall, I would prefer the Westin. There is something dated about the décor of the public areas in the Arion and the views are not so special. But also the staff in the bar and foyer of the Arion were quite surly towards visiting guests. I got the distinct impression that they were only interested in regular Greek visitors who I noticed were served with a lot more rapidity and charm. On our first visit to the Arion bar we waited in vain to be served and eventually moved to the far busier and livelier terrace bar of the Westin where we were served immediately by very professional and friendly staff.
Breakfast at the hotel was also a disappointment. Most of the tables are inside, the staff seem dispirited and the food selection is not 5 star.
On the plus side, the beach and bathing facilities are excellent and we found that there were ample sunbeds available. We also thought that the staff and the food in the beachside tavern were top class. The staff there were very relaxed and friendly and the food was genuine taverna fare which we thoroughly enjoyed.
While the rooms in the Westin are dated and there is greater competition for the available sunbeds, the public areas are a lot sleeker, the views are more spectacular, and the service overall is better in our experience.
