We stayed here only because it was part of our tour package. It was a lovely hotel, and cannot fault cleanliness or quality of rooms. However, if we had booked our own accommodation in Madrid, we would have stayed in the city. The train out to Getafe was fine, ran frequently etc, but the walk from there to the hotel is a bit far really. Nice restaurants around to eat at, breakfast beautiful.
No view to talk of, the hotel isn't really near anything to look at!

We stayed here 3 nights to use it as a base during our visit to Warner Bros Park and couldn't be better.

Very confortable and clean rooms, breakfast is OK.

Very easy and fast car transfer to/from Warner Bros Park (10 to 15 minutes with no traffic).
We went to Madrid downtown a couple of times to have dinner and the access was also very good.

The greakfast room is a bit small, it can get crowed.

This was my first time in Madrid. I was looking at hotels in downtown and all of them were in the $80 dollar range for the cheapest and some of them seemed not good, so then I found this one and only paid $65 dollars a night and I took a risk because it was in Getafe not in Madrid. Well it was well worth it. It's easy to get to downtown Madrid from here. Just take the Cercanías Renfe from Getafe Centro and you will be in downtown Madrid in 20 minutes. They have the regular metro and the renfe. The metro from Getafe will take you about an hour to downtown Madrid, but the renfe will save you 40 minutes and it only cost 2 Euros. Hesperia Getafe hotel is about 20 minutes walking distance to Getafe Centro, but it did not bother me. The city is clean and very safe to walk in no matter the hour, because I also did walk around at midnight walking back to hotel from downtown Madrid. The weather was great, so it was nice to walk around. The hotel on the outside just looks plain, but once you get to the room I thought it was nice. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean same as the bathroom. The room was big as well. I enjoyed staying here and I liked the city as well. There's not much going in the city of Getafe not many stores at all, but after all that did not matter to me because I came to visit Madrid and not Getafe.

My Friend and I stayed here from 09/12/10-09/14/10. We specifically picked this hotel as it was away from the hustle and bustle of Madrid. The handful of other guests in the hotel were obviously there on business. The room is suffieciently spaced and the bathroom is very roomy. Everything smelled fresh and clean. The buffet breakfast which if you purchase before hand will cost $9 Euros but if you purchase later runs $11-15 Euros. If you prefer there is a Mcdonalds 5 minutes from the Hotel if you want to save even more. The breakfast buffet consists of: Fresh Fruit, Cold Cereal, Coffee, Pastries, Chorizo (Spanish Style), Breads, cheeses, juices, sausage, a Spanish Tortilla and yougurt.

There are 2 computers in the lobby available for internet usage at the cost of $6 Euros an hour, which we did need to use to keep in contact with our family in the USA. But, since the keyboard has specific characters for Catalonian and Castillian usage I had difficulty trying to figure the set up. I seemed to be bothering the evening front desk woman who would not put down her phone and was doing things while yapping on the phone. On the other hand, the Day Front Desk Woman was extremely helpful and professional and ensured that we had sufficient maps and places to go and we appreciated this.

There are buses and a large Metro/ Renfe Train Station about a mile walk away from the hotel. For $2.90 Euros you can take the Renfe train from the Getafe Central Station to SOL station in the heart of Madrid. From there it is about a mile walk to El Prado Museam, The Regina Sofia Museam, etc.

The hotel itself is not a busy one as you are a distance away from the heat of Madrid, which was pleasant.

There is one the big problem with this hotel: it is right out in the sticks — miles from anywhere. The TripAdvisor map is hopelessly wrong – it is about two miles out. If the hotel was where the map says it is, it would be fine, but it's a long way away.

Getafi is a thriving southern suburb of Madrid, a long way out, though only five stops out on the suburban main line. It is a thriving if not particularly fashionable suburb, and the Tripadvisor (Google?) map puts the hotel in the middle of the suburb where it would be surrounded by some cafes and restaurants. Instead it is about 2 miles away on the other side of the motorway: even the taxi drivers can't find it, and it does not seem to be on the SatNav as yet. Clearly some planners said: let’s put a hotel complex in the middle of what we plan to be a council flat wilderness, so there is the Hesperia hotel, a Wedding palace, and bizarrely, a MacDonald’s. No shops, no cafés, nothing – and it’s a good 20 minutes fast walk to the nearest railway station or shops.

Apart from this, it is a good three to four star hotel. There are the usual minor niggles. There is no armchair in the room, the level of lighting is so low that you can't read, there is no plug for the computer, and there is no shower curtain so whenever you have a shower you inevitably end up with the floor of the bathroom swimming in water. There's no tea or coffee making equipment — though there is a small fridge which is perhaps more important. The restaurant closes at 8, though light meals available till late.

I suppose it is fine if you have your own transport, or are part of a coach party – and it seemed to be popular for weddings. I stayed there for a conference at the Carlos III university for which it is the nearest hotel – though still 20 minutes walk away. But for sight-seeing in Madrid, I would have preferred something more central – even though I received a good price!
