Recommended even though not at a central location.
Location: Not that near to the train station, more than 10 minutes walk away. But really 5 minutes to the University (entrance), which has a lovely campus. A large Hiber supermarket (0900-2100) nearby, with lots of fresh fruits. Along that street there are also lots of places to eat at. Especially recommended is the Meson Gallego Gracy Abanades. The whole neighborhood is quiet, safe and not touristy at all, so you can fully immerse in the local feel.
Reception: We had two different online bookings, both honored and recorded. There was always at least one English-speaking staff at the reception. We arrived way before the check-in time, but got our room right after it was cleaned (20 mins wait). Maps of the central area were provided upon request, and the staff even photostated a copy of the Leganes map for us. Check-out was a breeze as we had already paid in full. It's nice when they take your word for it that you didn't take anything from the minibar (as compared to some who send the housekeeping to check the room first).
Breakfast: Included with our booking, the breakfast was excellent by my standards. Open from 7am on weekdays and 8 am on weekends, forgot the end time. Food was fresh, and constantly replenished. Croissants were excellent, and so were the other breads. The juices were not freshly squeezed though, but they do have fresh cut fruits. Not much warm food, but there're scrambled egg, sausage and bacon. Good enough.
Room: Spacious and clean, brightly lit, with mini-fridge (not that cold), free wifi that works, and a large desk (at least for our room). Beds were comfortable too, and there was a power outlet that was easily accessible (the other one is in the toilet). Full aircon control (not those freezing central air conditioning that never respond to your adjustments). Not sure how it is in winter. No water kettle or coffee maker, and no bedroom slippers. No safe-box, and clothes hangers cannot be removed (you can't hang them anywhere else besides the wardrobe). No iron, so it can be a bit of a headache for some.
Bathroom: Clean and bright, with enough toilet roll, hand soap, shampoo and body wash. Disposable toiletries include a comb and a shower cap. Can't recall the rest. No toothbrush though. Towels feel clean and crisp. No hair dryer, but there is an accessible wall socket for electricity. Only gripe is the lack of a shower curtain or screen, so you have to be careful taking the shower or the water will spray out of the tub. Shower head is non-detachable, but water pressure is strong and water heating is consistently good.
