“Very friendly staff but extremely noisy rooms”
Reviewed 19 December 2013

I stayed 3 nights in this hotel and paid for an upgrade to have a large deluxe room with a nice view. The room was nice and bright but not very spacious. Most surprising was the small size of the bathroom with the tiniest shower I have ever encountered. No bathtub of course.
The biggest issue was the extremely poor sound insulation of the room: two nights in a row, I got woken up by the snoring of the guest in the room next to mine!! Extremely surprising for what seems to be the best hotel in El Escorial.
On a more positive note, the breakfast was very good but really too pricy (25 euros!) especially compared to the the price of the rooms!

Room Tip: Make sure that the walls are extra thick to avoid hearing every single move from the guest next door...

Great hotel in all aspects. The location was perfect for visiting El Escorial.

Room was perfect, very spacious and well appointed.

Staff was more than courteous and helpful.

We would definitely return.

Stayed at the hotel for convention in the last weekend of the october. It has potential that is sadly ruined by employment

Plus
- Great location. Right in the middle of Escorial. You can walk everywhere.
- Nice, clean rooms. No bathtub though... Also no english speaking channels in television. Comfortable bed.

Cons
- No air condition in congress room. It WAS HOOOOT and it was cold outside.
- Not enough employees. Was impossible to get service from the bar or restaurant. Even water!
- Minibar prices were robbery but so was everywhere in spain
- Cleaners think DO NOT DISTURB sign means; "Wake me up". had dozen or so convention attendees woke up by cleaners knocking on their doors even though they had do not disturb sign and then they even called to some of the rooms.... NO NO NO NOOO!!!

We stayed here in order to visit El Escorial (next door virtually) and the Valley of the Fallen (an easy drive). While the hotel lacks ambience and the parking was tight, our room was clean, spacious and quiet, overlooking a garden. The breakfast buffet was well presented and plentiful, and the staff courteous.

This hotel is in a good location, very close to the Monastery at El Escorial and the bars and restaurants of the village. There are great views across the plain to Madrid.

It doesn't have much else to recommend it. The room was tacky and odd: slightly grubby white walls, gold lamps and curtains, white sofa, laminate floor, gold vinyl bean bags and a television plugged into the ceiling. All the furniture appeared cheap. The air conditioning was ineffective, so we slept (4th floor, overlooking the park) with the windows open and the noise during the early hours of the morning was dreadful. Wifi is free but limited. The bathroom had no door: I'm not sure what the advantage of this is supposed to be. Bath gel etc were not replenished on the second day, nor were the tea and coffee.

Reception were good, spoke English and were polite. "Service" at breakfast was non existent. Breakfast was ok but nothing special.

TA have this in Madrid! It is actually very close to the Escorial Palace in San Lorenzo de El Escorial. We were very pleased with it. The only drawback is that you cannot park there but there is an underground park nearby.

Our room was slightly small but had the quietest and best aircon of our Spanish tour. Breakfast was really good with some healthy juices we had never seen before and did not again in Spain. You take breakfast in a long period room that overlooks a nice park. The fit out of the Hotel is very good with a lovely old central staircase preserved amid modern rooms. Wifi was good too,.

We were there at the same time as a Porsche team meeting so perhaps it has their stamp of approval too. We would recommend it over the Best Western and other Hotels for its situation and service delivery.

We went to San Lorenzo for a conference, but the place where it was held and where we were supposed to stay messed up so they put us in this hotel for just one night. I had a huge room on the third floor. It surprisingly did not have any bathroom door - I guess it was meant for cupples or something. However the room was very nicely furnished with a coffee maker, electric kettle, selection of teas and coffee and there were even some slippers in the bathroom and a robe :-). The view from the window was quite spectacular. I liked the large selection of flavored lose leaf teas you could make yourself in the breakfast room.
