The national museum is conveniently located at the Royal Dockyard where our cruise ship docked. The Commissioner's House chronicled the history of slavery in Bermuda and Portuguese history. There was a collection of coins from 1600's to recent. There was a nautical museum in one of the surrounding buildings that had a lot of information and artifacts about the shipwrecks around Bermuda.

For a fairly quick, inexpensive history of the island, you must visit this museum. It is extremely interesting and very large with many out buildings and an old fort, etc.

Easy walk from where the cruise ships dock. Great experience.

We really enjoyed the National Museum of Bermuda. It's a very nicely maintained museum, with a lot of maritime history and history of Bermuda. The views on the perimeter of the museum are first-rate to make sure that you don't miss that. Highly recommended.

Expensive admission, but great views. The main museum complex gave a fantastic overview of Bermudian history! Enjoyed the mural and the war history in particular. Stop by for a visit if you're in Dockyard!
