Lost in the middle of nowhere in a Vosges valley it's the place to be if you are looking for fine food , excellent accomodation and warm welcome .
On a short mid-week visit we were warmly welcome with a glass of sparkling wine , buns and a variety of warm local drinks .The room was spacy with all possible amenities and with a view overlooking the village .I enjoyed the small swimming pool , the jacuzzi and the sauna bath .
We dined at the restaurant and we enjoyed the fine food ,the attentive service and the sophisticated setting . After a very quiet night breakfast was gorgeous with all you expect in such a luxury place .
We can only recommend this luxury hotel .

Last year, I won a bongo for a free night in a hotel of my choice. My husband and I decided to take a trip to the Alsace region and to stay 1 night at the Hostellerie La Cheneaudière - Relais & Chateaux. This was also the occasion to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary.

The hotel and domain is very nice. The swimming pool and sauna were really appreciated after a long day of tourism. The room was very large and it had a beautiful bathroom.

We really felt like stars. No wonder, you can see lots of pictures hanging in the hallway downstairs of well know people. Even Tina Turner stayed there and signed her picture: 'simply the best'.

Since we were tired and not ready to move to eat outside and we were there for a nice occasion, we decided to eat a 7-courses gastronomic menu at their restaurant. It's was a bit pricy but excellent.

The breakfast buffet was beautiful. The variety was undescriptible. There was a variety of bread, croissants, jams, charcuterie, smoked salmon, eggs, fresh fruits, fresh orange juice, yoghurts, different coffees, warm chocolate, a selection of tea etc.... and even Prosecco.

The only inconvenience about this hotel is that it's a bit out of the way from main attractions but perfect for a night stay of recuperation after a long and busy day. Or, you could easily stay longer if you're in need of relaxation.

All together, this was a perfect gateway and I would definitely go back anytime and I recommend to everybody.

To start, yes, there is still probably better but i'm an average traveller/tourist with an average budget, and after spending for work even already a lot of weekhotels, this is here a marvelleaus excellent great weekend/holiday/trip hotel.
Not for design architecture freaks, not 2minutes away from the highway, but here critism stops.
From the start, there is a warm welcome with excellent rooms, nice bathroom, perfect bedcomfort.
Wifi access very easy (do you need it?).
Very good dinner facilities. Never seen so many personnel who knows their job !
Breakfast is a heaven, and really heaven as you hear the birds (you should be there to understand (although too much bird song can come annoying)).
We go back. This hotel has it !

We stayed in La Cheneaudiere as we wanted to visit Strasbourg while being in a special location. As a memebr of the R&C group, La Cheneaudiere fulfills any expectation that you could have of it. If you travel with your family you might like to choose one of the "house-apartments" that they have. The hotel is located in the middle of the forest, with excellent views in an incredible environment. The spa is quite small but it has an indoor swimming pool with jacuzzy. Food is a must if going to La Cheneaudiere. Its restaurant has an excellent selection of food and wines. Breakfast is also excellent. Perfect service.

Planned this stop on route to southern France. The location is stunning and very 'off the beaten track', we didn't have the time to investigate the surroundings though.
We stayed with our children (4 & 7) and I received plenty of good (and quick) help from the hotel prior to our arrival to make our stay as good as possbile. The greeting, and the atmosphere in general, was very friendly and welcoming but still remained at a luxury level.
We had dinner in the restaurant which was at a high and expected level, the children had several choices from their menu.
We stayed in our of their suites which was very large (huge baththub) with a separete room for the children. The suite (Les Aubépines) was very charming and quite romantic in terms of decoration etc. We used the pool area and was pleased with that, when they are done with their spa area I expect it to raise the level some of the esatblishment.
The real treat was the breakfast though, so refined, quite and relaxing. The quality of the breakfast and service was excellent. To us, this was well over our expectations and that's always nice.
We recived a guided tour of their kitchen area with their chef, the children got chef-hats (whatever the real name for that is) with their names on it and we got some printed pictures of them in the kitchen with the chef. A small and nice gesture.

All together, excellent stay if you don't want to give up on luxury just because you're travelling with children but it's obviously not cheap.
