“Enjoyable holiday experience all round!”
Reviewed 1 week ago for a stay in August 2018

Stayed here for just short of 2 wks as family of 4. House was as advertised, with great views from all windows! Comfy beds too, which was super! Grt location...we loved walking down into the village to visit the local weekly French markets. Grt to get a real taste of local cuisine and goods plus meet the people ! Lovely town with river and sunshine in abundance! Experienced French evening and used canoeerics twice for different parts of the river...which we all loved! What else could you ask for !! Been to the area before but in a caravan, so having the house this time as a base, was just fab and loved by all! If we decide to come back to this area of Dordogne, would re-book, as super location and for the price you couldn’t get any better or ask for more!

“Clean and roomy, close to Le Bugue centre.”

We stayed here for 12 nights and found the house clean and modestly furnished. It has three floors and plenty of room for six people.

All the amenities of home for cooking and washing. The house stays cool even on the hottest days, when shutters are used. Its location close to the centre of le Bugue is ideal for visiting the town itself and getting to other places like Sarlat, Saint Christophe, Les Eyzies, Saint-Cyprien and elsewhere. Limeuil is not far and is beautiful place to visit. Close to Limeuil there is a small church called St Martin's, this was built in honour of Thomas Becket, by Henry II's son Richard the lionheart. It is well worth a visit.

The house has a nice view over the river Vézère and is very close for canoeing on the Vézère and Dordogne and has a small terrace at the front .

Drawbacks:
The road outside the house is quite busy and can be fairly noisy, especially in the morning.
There is a TV but it is not connected to any aerial or tv service, DVD player is connected to TV. No radio.
Biggest drawback is there is no internet connection. Can you live without them in 2016?

Owners were very good with communication.

Perfect house central to Sarlat and all the main highlights of the region, plus a fantastic town right on your door step.
The house was very generously proportioned and equipped.

“A good base to explore the Dordogne.”

We stayed here for a week in April and found it to be an ideal base to explore the Dordogne. Le Bugue is a nice town with good restaurants and a supermarket, plus a great weekly market which was a highlight. All the key areas of the Dordogne are close by to Le Bugue but it does not have the volume of tourist traffic other towns do. The house was basic but comfortable and the kids board games were a hit and the next door neighbour very friendly. Only downside was a bit of traffic noise early in the morning. A positive was being able to walk into town whenever we wanted.

“Charming”
Reviewed 4 August 2012 for a stay in March 2012

We'd gladly stay here again, as the house was charming and comfortable and proved to be an excellent base for exploring an area steeped in history. Le Bugue itself was attractive and we had great fun playing jungle golf and exploring the picturesque medieval villages nearby.

A word of warning - you are unlikely to appreciate the tour of the prehistoric caves at Rouffignac unless you can comprehend very rapid spoken French...Unfortunately, we cannot and the tour guide's explanations sailed right over our heads, which was disappointing, as I'm sure what she had to say was absolutely fascinating...

“Very comfortable, well equipped and convenient for travelling around the area.”
Reviewed 2 July 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We had a very happy week at Maison de Cingle. Lovely views of the river. We had our supper outside on the patio every night. We thought the Le Bugue market was better than the mid-week market at Sarlat. The walks around the hills are lovely as is the walk along the Vezere river. A pretty, quiet town...

Liked least: We did need the wifi, but it is available just down the road at the Travel Bureau as well as other places in town.
