This is a superbly restored medieval château which oozes character. We didn't stay so can't comment on the accommodation but ate lunch at the restaurant. Good food if a little salty which seemed to be the case for all options. (hence the four star rating) and superb service. Try the Cotes du Thongues for your main course wine and the chocolate maccaroon for desert.

We celebrated our wedding surrounded by all our friends and family, taking over the entire hotel. The management and staff could not have been more helpful, their attention to detail was second to none and the entire event passed without a hitch - except for us getting hitched of course.
I can highly recommend this hotel to anyone, whether you are celebrating a big occasion or having a weekend away, the hotel is full of character and the staff really look after their guests. The swimming pool is a great asset and the restaurant produces some top notch food. It goes without saying that I was very impressed.

This magical property in the midi-Pyrenees is something travelers dream about. It is at once charming and comfortable; posh but not pretentious. People talk about the ambiance, and with good reason, but the food is quite extraordinary. Unfortunately we were only able to stay one night at the Chateau, but the memories of that visit will last a lifetime. Or, as the French say, très magnifique!

Room Tip: The rooms seem to face the interior courtyard (not an exceptional view, but lots of light through th...

Two nights here made for a splendid start to a week in the region and you really do live in a castle. Our room was the honeymoon suite and very atmospheric... we ate both nights in the delightful courtyard, once just under cover and once fully outside.

The Nourissons who own and run the place are delightful, as were all the staff we came across.

Both room and food were priced reasonably and I would thoroughly recommend the place.

The only small thing I'd recommend would be a complimentary bottle of water in the room every night, rather than just the first.

Wi-Fi reception is a bit hit and miss, due no doubt to the thick walls and there's no lift... but hey, it's a castle ! Brilliant.

I took a room in the tower that has the thick wall and the wooden girders.
The bar with the frescoes, the restaurant with the professional service especially about the regional wine. It's very comfortable.

I have just spent a fortnight at this hotel. It was a real delight. It is full of genuine charm and character as you would expect from a Medieval chateau, tastefully decorated in appropriate style, with comfortable modern bathrooms. With walls several feet thick, the Chateau was a beautifully cool place to return to during the hot weather – no air conditioning required! A modern swimming pool also provided a nice place to relax.
The courtyard inside the chateau made a great outside dining area, and we frequently had breakfast and dinner outside, adding to the very special experience of staying at this hotel.
The level of service was outstanding; from the proprietors themselves to the most junior of staff, nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was thoughtful and helpful, and always cheerful. The restaurant too was exceptional both in quality of food and wine and the way in which the meals were served. Sensible advice was always available when we asked for it on choice of local wine from the extensive list to complement the excellent food.
There is plenty to do and see in this area – we spent our time exploring old castles, going on wine tasting tours, and simply enjoying the beautiful countryside and pretty villages. I thoroughly recommend this hotel. We shall undoubtedly be returning.

Room Tip: A suite in one of the towers is particularly spacious.

An imposing castle with a striking silhouette; a square building that opens into a courtyard, set in a lovely garden through which the river Aude flows. In the bedrooms of this 16th century listed building, a medieval atmosphere and modern comforts are skilfully combined.
