Ibis Saint Omer Centre

Reviewed 9 February 2014

We stayed at the Ibis for 2 nights. Our room was small but functional and very clean, the room was cleaned and fresh towels each day. Breakfast was good but the same each morning.Tea and coffee facilities in the room would of been much appreciated. Our 2nd night the fire alarm went off, not ounce but twice. It was a false alarm thank goodness. When we left they did not charge us for the Saturday night because of the disruption. We thought this was good of them.
Location of Ibis was very good, restaurants are defiantly worth a visit.

You know what you'll get with an Ibis. Rooms are small but clean and functional. Good breakfast. Good WiFi (although it broke down during our stay). Secure parking a big advantage. Very close to the cathedral and th main square, Great place for a short break with friendly staff and good service.

Room Tip: Gert a room on the inside facing the car park. The road out front can be a little noisy, but we did...

Here you get what you would expect from an Ibis so we weren't disappointed apart from the noise which came from other rooms - so it's a problem re the clientele rather than the hotel itself. We can't moan about people who need to use the loo during the night but the couple who were very noisy in a nearby room could have more respect for their fellow guests. The guests when we stayed were all British apart from one other family. However this is to be expected given its proximity to the ferry ports and Tunnel. St Omer itself is lovely and well worth stopping off at.

Standard Ibis fare. Pleasant enough room etc.

Secure parking behind the hotel. WiFi.

Very short walk to the Cathedral and town with a wide selection of bars and restaurants.

The bar area is a bit dead.

My wife and I have just had a pleasant but very quiet 4 days at this typical Ibis hotel. The location is superb as it is situated at the heart of the town close to the square, the bars and restaurants, the vast majority of which are closed on New Years Eve. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the rooms clean and ample and the cost, at this time of year, excellent value. If you want a quiet New Year and away from the hustle and bustle then this a great time of year to visit. However the Cité d,Europe advertises that it is open at 11.00am on Bank Holidays but it is actually closed all day on New Year's Day as we found to our misfortune.
