“A surprising trip through the waterways”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 September 2013

We went last Saturday and had a relaxing tour that was all in French. We were given a written folder on the history of the canals that went along with what the French speaking guide was announcing. It was very surprising to see the large number of farms along the canal. The highlight of the trip was a stop at a farm that was selling the freshest of cabbage, cauliflower, pumpkin, leeks, carrots, plums, potatoes which we bought for a very good price and hauled back to the UK.

“Fascinating - part of the region's heritage”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 September 2013

These waterways are well worth seeking out. We found the reception staff so helpful, they arranged for us (4) to join in a pre-booked guided tour for a Dutch party. We were provided with an english (written) guide and had an enjoyable hour on board. We hadn't appreciated the size and complexity of the canal system. Truly beautiful in many ways and revealed the economy of the area - growing vegetables- and the isolation; 150 homes only accessible by boat!
