Residence Les Balcons de Belle Plagne

Excellent, good value self-catering apartments (spacious too and perfect for families), in a great location - ski-in and ski-out and very close to all the amenities. Staff really helpful and indoor pool facilities super after a long day skiing. The ski hire shop is located just under the apartments and freshly baked baguettes and pastries from the restaurant each morning was lovely. It's a really nice family resort with lots of long blue runs nearby and it's very easy to get to Plagne Bellcote for all the major lifts. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times and the food was good (I would recommend the Tarteflette!). The apartment was clean, tidy and well equipped and the beds comfortable. They also have lockers for skis and boots downstairs. It was so good I have already booked for 2015!

Room Tip: Apartment located above reception good as free Wifi reached us

We've come back a couple of times. Les balcons are perfectly situated at the pistes, you just ski down to the ski lifts. Good apartments. We always choose a larger apartment for more people. Nearby supermarket, restaurants. You cal order fresh bread for the mornings. They also have a hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a apartment with fewer people to stay in a larger apartment, than it's perfect.

This was my first visit run by smitten by snow and it was fantastic. The service was brillaint and our Hosts Liv & Ed were excellent! They were very helpful, kind and polite and it was a pleasure to have them as hosts. The Chalet was lovely and always clean, and you could not fault the food what so ever. I would definitely recommend it!

This was our fifth visit to Smitten by Snow which in itself says a lot.
As usual excellent hosts, superb food and great company.
We have never been disappointed with the advice offered by the staff and this year Ed and Livvy did us proud yet again.
If its quality, service and friendliness - get Smitten by Snow

After a dreadful holiday in a chalet in La Tania at Christmas we had a great holiday in Chalet Chardon, Belle Plagne, run by Smitten by Snow. The location is fantastic - truly ski in - ski out. No messing about with mini buses or long walks in ski boots. We were thoroughly spoilt by the hosts, Doug and Allison, who ensured that we had everything we needed. They kept the apartment clean and tidy; they were good cooks and fantastic company. The apartment is comfortable but the living area is a bit dated. The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms have a jacuzzi bath - great for getting rid of those apres-ski aches and pains.
The only down side is the parking. Underground parking is available - 10 euros per day - or you have to park outside - not much cheaper.
Thanks once again, Phil, you have restored our belief in chalet holidays.

We stayed here for one week via ski world, having sole use of the chalet (18 in our group) - All being around 25yrs old. We have stayed in catered chalets for snowboarding weeks before, and while not being fussy, I found the chalet to be over priced for what you receive.

Pros:
ski in/out was fantastic, could be closer, chalet clarine is on the ground floor, out one door and on the piste. Location was also excellent for being 3min walk to gondola and to main bar/shop area of belle plagne, gondola going to plagne bellecote, which has a bus service to plagne centre etc.
Bar/restaurant downstairs was very reasonable and we found the food to be of a good standard.
Constant supply of hot water (which other chalets have struggled with) and jacuzzi baths in the bathrooms were a good touch.
Chalet always warm.
Swimming pool, sauna and hot tub were fantastic, and a well stocked 'gym' room if you have the energy!

Cons:
Chalet 'dated' and grubby due to age. Log burner looked to be falling apart, sofas looked dirty, kitchen didn't seem to have enough utensils for all guests (hosts had to wash up between courses).
Table wasn't really big enough for 18 guests and the chairs were all falling apart, needing constant 'banging' back into place.
Bedding/duvet covers were torn and the duvets were different sizes, one guests seemed a child size, one pillow per guest which were very lumpy and small, led to most having bad nights sleep and sore necks.
Most bathrooms did not have shower curtains, making showers impossible for some guests due to the floors becoming like swimming pools.
Doors do not have individual locks.

All these issues could be fixed if ski world could pay attention to customers comments, as the chalet has huge potential due to size and location.
If you want a quieter night request for rooms 6 or 7, situated away from social areas.

3rd time staying here and always come back cos its so wonderful. The last two times we've brought children and the apartments are well suited. Plenty of floor space for crawlers, playing, etc. We will likely come here again when returning to this resort. Pool area is lovely. Whole experience is worth the money.
