We were a group of 8 friends and family who stayed at Chalet Yogi in mid February. We had a great time and would recommend the Chalet. On the last evening I asked everyone how many start we should give and everyone thought it should be 5. Don’t expect a 5 star luxury chalet but do expect good service, a great location with a friendly and informal atmosphere.
The Chalet is ski-in ski-out, literally on the piste. It’s located between La Plagne centre and La Plagne villages. This is perfect as the lower villages (e.g. Plagne 1800) can be difficult to access at the end of the day. You can ski to it from Colossus fift, La Grand Rochette or Les Verdons or from the top of the Bergerie lift.
Our host Jenny was excellent, a good cook and very helpful sorting out bookings for activities etc
The food was very good and Jenny coped well with one vegetarian and another gluten free, even making sure there were gluten free cakes every day. One of our group thought her coffee cake was the best cake they had ever eaten.
The chalet had wifi, Netflix & Freesat TV plus bluetooth speakers although wifi was a bit hit and miss in peak times.
The Hot tub was used every day.
Nice views over La Plagne centre from upper floor.
The ski equipment was delivered to the chalet and despite the walk from the chalet to the road the fitter went backwards and forwards several times without complaint. The also changed some equipment the next day without any queries or issues.
The chalet was nice and warm, there was plenty of hot water although we did run short one day when everyone showered at the same time.
Quite small for 8 people, only enough sofas for 6.
One bedroom is accessed through another so suitable for family of 4.
The only access is via the piste so on arrival you have to walk for ca 200 m on the piste, make sure you have sensible footwear.
Alpoholics seemed disorganised at the airport pick-up.
The lower rooms were quite dark.
My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay with alpoholics. We stayed in the lovely chalet yogi, which was fitted with all the gadget, games and drinks you would ever need after a long day of skiing! ( Apple TV, pool table, hot tub and brew dog) We met some great guests, ate some tasty food made by our charming chalet host Jenny. As well had a good ski in la plagne on a bataleon board supplied by alpoholics. Would recommend the experience :)
I really cannot wait to get back on the slopes, after a perfect week in Chalet Yogi. Amazing food, amazing host, amazing views and just an amazing accommodation. We were looked after from the off, and the ski and boot hire was superb. It was such a bonus to be completely ski in ski out, and we really made sure to make the most of the hot tub and pool table in the evenings. The cakes after getting in from skiing were so good, I often went back for seconds! We will definitely be returning.
Our expectations were set pretty high before arriving....but throughout our stay we were never disappointed!! Jenny was an exceptionally good host, serving delicious breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea everyday (except her day off). We ate like kings for the week we were there! You also can’t beat the location of this chalet...it really is ski in/ski out, making it so convenient to head off in the morning! We hired skis and boots through Alpoholics, and even though we arrived fairly late, we were still fitted and equipped on arrival night which meant we didn’t lose out on any ski time. The chalet also had everything we needed, plus it was such a treat to have an outdoor hot tub and pool table! I can’t fault our stay...we’re already looking at when we can come back!
The Alpoholics team were great from start to finish, our host Jen was incredible, she cooked us the best food we have ever had in a catered chalet (and most restaurants). She was so helpful and made us feel very welcome.
The chalet could not be more ski-in ski-out unless it was actually on the piste. The free service to try out Armada skis and Bataleon snowboards for a day was a very nice touch, especially when they are left under the Christmas tree and everything was brand new.
And finally a visit from Rigga the alpoholics dog topped it all off!
Alcoholics, what have you done! I can’t go to any other ski resorts now as they won’t live up to the week I’ve just had at Chalet Yogi!
From airport transfers to our stay with you, we felt very lucky to have got a week booked at Yogi.
As everyone else has already said, the hot tub is the absolute envy of all passers by, and the chalet itself is as ski in/ out as you could possibly get!
Jenny, our host has made me put on at least a stone in weight (yes she’s getting the blame) but it’s soooo worth it! She cooked up a storm in that kitchen every night and as a group we kept saying how excited we were to find out what the food was when she bought it out each night, and each mouthful of all 3 courses was very scrumptious- she’s a gem!
And her cakes... just wow!
Ski passes and rentals were all sorted for us when we got there , so all we had to do on our first day was walk (ski) out of the door.
All the staff we met (Charlie, jess, Lewis and the blonde girl who came to help us with our transfer home ) were all great and an asset to your company!
I will definitely be back one day!!!!
Yogi really is a ski in/ski out chalet. The hot tub is amazing and basically located on the piste, allowing you to raise your glass to passers by with a suitable smug grin on your face. Scotty's is also only a short walk away for some apres and live music. Great location - full stop.
Jenny our host was superb. She not only prepared delicious 3 course meals with a smile, genuinely took an interest in the group, made sure we never ran out of beer/wine (even when the huge dump of snow meant that she had to drag a crate of beer up the slope on a sledge!) but she also sorted out all our bindings/skis - absolute legend and asset to alpoholics. Jess was also lovely and regularly popped in to check we were having the best holidays possible....which we did!
I'll definitely be back!
