Our first Club Med holiday was a last minute booking. We stayed for New Year Week and were really impressed. We self drove, on arrival you get a friendly welcome and.. a white envelope full of instructions.... its all quite complicated, and there is very much a fixed system that you need to follow - otherwise , it could go a bit wrong. Staff, by and large, are extremely competent and friendly. I Liked the way the general manager stood by the ski door to wave everyone of in the morning and welcome you back in the afternoon with vin chaud. Everything is paid for, all meals, drinks, ski lessons, pass etc. The food is really top quality- you would easily be paying 70 euros per head per dinner if you went to a restaurant for this quality. The after dinner shows are a bit 'cruise ship' but fun and done in a nice casual way. The rooms are all newly refurbished to a very high standard. The ski area is fantastic - you can ski all week and not visit the same area twice. there are connections to Les Arc.
Downsides - the hotel architecture is horrible - a bit like a Leningrad suburb designed by a second rate architectural student. There aren't enough lifts. The web site log in was difficult - we never managed it. But all in all would definitely return and enjoyed it massively!More
