This hotel is very well situated for a skiing vacation. It is very family orientated and probably better for families with younger children. The only criticism I have (and that was probably due to the fact that the hotel was very full) is that our room was often only made up late afternoon, or some time after lunch. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is very close to ski lifts. The management and rental of ski equipment was managed efficiently and was quite seamless.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the car park and we could hear music at the hotel late at night. These are possibly not the best rooms if you would prefer less noise

We have recently just returned from a fabulous holiday at Club Med La Plagne.

Myself and my 2 daughters were novice skiers, so i can't compare the slopes to anywhere else, but i thought they were wonderful. It really is ski in, ski out.The girls happily went off to the mini club at 9am every morning and were looked after by Lara, who really went out of her way to make us feel that the children were well looked after and having great fun (so we could concentrate on the skiing!). At the mini club they skied in the morning, came in for lunch, back on the slopes and then had some 'quiet' time before we picked them up in the bar area where chefs were set up in the middle serving hot chocolate, and delicious cakes and crepes for weary skiers. They made lots of little friends and they really did have the best time.

The rooms were clean and pretty spacious, the food quality and choice was impressive, nothing too fancy but suited us perfectly. There were plenty of healthy choices (the deserts are to die for!).

I thought the ski hire fee on top of what we had already paid a little steep, but another reviewer has suggested hiring the equipment at the local Intersport shop, which is worth looking into.

The ski lessons provided by the ESF team were well organised and good fun. Eric was our instructor for group lessons. For 1-1 speak to Seb.

The shows in the evening are put on by the hotel staff and they were very entertaining and energetic and you can tell they were having fun doing them. The burlesque show is definately an eye opener.

Sondez on reception was very very helpful during our stay and nothing was too much trouble.

Ricardo is the spa manager who is very charming and efficient. We enjoyed a relaxing massage on the second day which was wonderful.

We loved it there and didn't want to leave, would go back in an instant!!!!

We had an excellent week at Club Med La Plagne. The rooms were clean, well-maintained and chamber-maiding service very good. The food was plentiful and of excellent quality. There was an amazing choice of food at each meal. Le Serac, the on-site Savoyard restaurant was also excellent, with a choice of local dishes. The entertainment was fun and light-hearted. The ski lessons provided by ESF were well-taught and well-organised by the local team. The ski-in and ski-out resort made it very easy with children. We saved hundreds of pounds booking our equipment hire with the local Intersport shop, just up the road and avoided large queues in the hotel on arrival. A brilliant holiday, highly recommended.

We ski every year as a family. This looked good on paper. Reality: tiny rooms, overcrowded, 2 lifts to serve 7 floors and hundreds of people - slow to get anywhere and ALOT of waiting around. Food ok- once you get to end of queue. Staff nice, but it's very impersonal. Ski hire is 3 times that of the local shop - book separately! If you like big ferries, you will love this place!

Amazingly, in my search for a ski in ski out vacation, I discovered that a trip to the French Alps was cheaper than a trip to Colorado or Utah. This club med is lovely. The people are kind, accommodating and the skiing is wonderful. It truly is ski in ski out. We both skied and my son tried his hand at snow boarding. He discovered that, although he was able to master it, he did not care for it. With a smile, the staff changed his rental package from snowboard to ski. The food is nothing exotic, but it was such a pleasure to be eating healthy European food, that we were content with food that was 3-4 star. The mood was relaxing and the vast majority of guests were European. (They were surprised to find an American among them). The room was pristine. It was small, but we were thrilled with the ability to open the window and breathe in the fresh cold air (did I mention we are from South Florida??). We will be returning. Oh, and since our flight ended in Geneva, we were able to tour Cern. My son was enthralled. lastly, there are much cheaper ways of transferring from the airport and back, but you must use local trains and buses.
