“great spot, fantastic slopes”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 January 2014

This hotel, at the outside of les menuires (les bruyeres) has excellent ski in ski out facilities. The rooms are spacious and the beds excellent. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The restaurant is by all means good. Breakfast quick, and good choice (although pricy for what you get, but then you are on holiday...), in the evenings very good dishes at good prices.
The spa is also great, they could maintain it a bit better (half of our week the sauna was out of order). Wifi is terribly slow, that really needs to be improved.
Thx to the quick acces to a lot of lifts all the valley runs are whitin easy reach!

Stayed over February half term with another family. The hotel apartment was excellent. Very roomy and lovely and warm. Great views of the piste. This hotel is ski in ski out, only if you are fairly confident. Some of our party were so it was fine for them. The rest of us had to lug our gear to the chair lifts which was mildly inconvenient. You get used to it after a while.

We ate in the hotel once and the food was very good, my husband had a second main bought to the table as the waitress had noticed how small his portion was. That was unexpected. The lobby area is nice and roomy with a huge fire in the centre. The pool was ok until it got busy.

We did have major trouble finding the hotel as the signage was not great. It didn't help that it was very late and had started to snow.

I had an issue with my son and his asthma and the reception staff were amazing. So a huge Thank You to them.

Im not a skier however I thought the location was fantastic and believe there to have been plenty of challenging slopes for the advanced skier as well as the beginner.

I stayed at Chalet du Mont Vallon Spa Resort during the second week of February, just before the major French holidays.

Entering the lobby immediately makes you feel at ease. There's a very nice modern fireplace. And they make pancakes in between 4 - 6 pm for something like 6 euros each.

We had booked a 4 persons room "Vallée" but we received a free upgrade to a "Suite Vallée". This gave us one extra bedroom and one extra bathroom. Consequently we really got value for money. Everything still looked super modern as the hotel only opened in december 2011. There were lots of closets, a tv in one bedroom and also one in the living room and the free wifi worked well. There is also huge balcony. The Vallée rooms are more expensive than their counterparts but at night you can sometimes hear cars coming up or going down on the main road below.

We had hotel service, which was okay. One day we came back early from skiing and the room had not yet been cleaned. This was approximately 2 or 3 PM and that seems too late.

The Welness part is accessible next to the reception. I was positively surprised by the warmth of the pool water. I'm also in love with their hammam. We might have been unlucky but there were some loud children without parental supervision. I don't mean to come off as a boring, old person that does not understand their fun but this it way I felt. It's different in summer, the sound has a way of escaping when you're in or next to an outdoor pool. But in winter, in an indoor pool, it resonates and sort of destroys the point of having a SPA to relax. There was no overpopulation of the pool though. The pool towels are not exchanged daily. This is a little weird in a 4 * hotel.

We did not get a ski locker. We asked for it twice. The second time the receptionist concluded that there were none available. We have our own skis and we didn't really mind taking them up to our room (even though it's inconvenient) but if we had not gotten the upgrade, we would not have had any place to store them. It's easy: if they indicate they have ski lockers, they should really have them.

Access to the village of Les Bruyeres is UP. It's a nice walk but you'll be out of breath. There is a public lift that takes you about halfway but it is suuuper slow. It only takes off if the weight is not exceeded, completely understandable. Concretely this means a max of 2 people in a 10 person lift or so... The lift (seemed very new though) really had a mind of its own. Access to the piste is top. You take the new chairlift next to La Masse and when you arrive at the top you have a choice of either Sunny Express or Les Bruyeres.

Overall we had a pleasant stay but I hope these are interesting comments for anyone thinking about this hotel/residence and for it to be able to improve.

To conclude: Les Trois Vallées is still awesome! We did not try the restaurant of the hotel but in Les Bruyeres I can advise Cocon des Neiges. When going over to Valtho there is La Marine. In Meribel one of the restaurants we like is La Tonia. And in Courchevel 1850 the restaurant of the Courcheneige Hotel has a really nice terrace and a good menu skieur.

Stayed here for February half term with 2 other families. Find very little, if anything, to fault the hotel with:
- Staff very welcoming from check-in and thoughout our stay. Prior to the stay they were very good at helping arrange for delivery of ski rental equipment. During our stay all staff, especially restaurant staff, were very friendly.
- Restaurant very good. We took the half board option for ease and could not fault either the food or service (see above). The hotel was also very accomodating to our group of 8 children, including giving them child friendly menu options.
- Standards of decor and equipment very good - hotel still looks and feels fresh, styling is a good mix of modern and traditional wood. We (family of 5) stayed in a room with 2 double beds and a separate bunk bed area - effectively a mini appartment and were always very comfortable - using the rooms as a self catered option would also be viable. The hotel pool is a good size as hotel pools go and only feels crowded because of peak usage (ie. alls kids' seem to swim at end of ski day). The only downside is the hotel gym (bike, rowinng machine and cross trainer) which feels like an after-thought. But we didn't choose it because of this!
- Location is good. Once you figure out how to get kids to ski school - ie. ski down to the nearest short chairlift which opens at 0900 for a 30 second ski down to the ski school rather than walk kids up hill/stairs carrying skis - the location is also very good

Pricing seemed reasonable given the standard of the hotel. Would have no hesitation in staying here again and/or recommending it

The Hotel is very modern (built in 2012?) but blends nicely with the surroundings. Our room was very nicely furnished, complete with full and modern kitchen units and utensils ...including an induction cooker and a dishwasher. It was a very welcome change from old ski lodges where the kitchen utensils are easily showing their age. Skiing out of and into the Hotel ski room was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and NEVER looked for tips.

I have only two minor gripes...the breakfast in the Hotel was steep at 18 Euros per person; the pool area was a little too small for the number of guests!

We have just returned from the 3 valleys staying at Chalet Hotel Mont Vallon in Les Menuires. The staff are very helpful and no request seemed to much for their assistance. All spoke good English.
The location is ski in ski out and another review said difficult for beginners we would tend to agree (although we are very proficient skiers the run home in the afternoon is fairly narrow and very busy).
We stayed in room 323 which was quite spacious with bunk beds in the entrance hallway, a separate lounge and a good sized bedroom.
The lounge had a good range of appliances as a kitchenette although there were no utensils or pots and pans to cook with!!
The pool/spa was a reasonable size but did get very busy at peak times.
There were a distinct lack of hooks for coats etc and the bedroom would have benefited from bedside tables.
It was in a very good location to enable access to the Les Menuires lift system. There are some ski hire and supermarkets very close by.
We would go back.

Room Tip: Mountain views are great

Very modern, clean and a good size apartment for France! Small spa with swimming pool 130cms deep, sauna and steam room. About 10 comfortable lounger chairs round the pool. Everything clean and tidy. Good quality bathrobes and towels provided.

Restaurant is adequate. Breakfast is E16 per person and good value. Lunch and dinner menus are the same. My (apparently home made) lasagne was stodgy and really not very good but my husband`s gambas were good. Good reasonably priced wine list eg Pouilly Fume at around E32 a bottle. Attractive reception and bar area with comfy chairs and an open fire.

Other restaurants are a 10 minute walk away ................ up two lifts and five flights of concrete stairs. No good with a pushchair or small children! A great pity the hotel restaurant isn`t better.

Skiing door to door is possible for everyone except complete beginners. Excellent, easy access to 3 Valleys system. Reception will book lift passes for you so they are ready when you arrive. Staff very helpful.

Ski room is badly designed and far too cramped: everyone tripping over each others` equipment at peak time and only one bench (blocking the exit!) to change boots. Lockers are spacious but have no heating, so better to take your boots back to your cosy apartment overnight.

Good value compared with other Les Menuires residences. Easy car parking. Recommended.
