stayed for a short break, prob. 5th time at this hotel over 20+ yrs of travelling with s/c.
Staff A1, had some probs other yrs but not this.
New coaches r great, drivers not so. Late pick-up yet again, took wrong m'way in France, knock on effect, so arrived at resort midday, skiing for 1pm after hearty b'fast in hotel. Had own skis etc. (sarah, rec. buying a pair if u on 4th year, y did u not get silver ski edges sharpened?)
Hot tub worked, apre ski the usual quiz, bowling etc.
Food good 2*, brekky the usual chalet buffet, dinner- hearty filling 4 course meals, + bobs supplements)
Met good sociable people at dinner, skied with some of them for 2+ days (Bob-writer, foodie. Homer! wot a do-nut, and an up and coming Tomba) plus a few others I could name.
Coach home same as dep. (LATE). Usual drivers ok tho! and safe, just need info guys!? would go back 2morrow, enjoy!!

Room Tip: Have stayed in at least 5 diff. rooms, diff. floors, all much the same

We are regular skiers with Snowcoach and have had mixed experiences over the years. This was our first visit to L'Aigle and we were very impressed. The Hotel is staffed this year by an incredible team of young people all of whom work hard and conscientiously. The standard of cleanliness was high at all times and any request was promptly and cheerfully acted upon. The chef provided delicious food every day and checked each night that we were happy, the snow was plentiful and we could ski almost to the door. A great package.

We went with Snowcoach after having two previous holidays with them that were good, however after this holiday I will NOT be booking a holiday with them ever again!!

*Unacceptable travel conditions on the return journey home (2 of our seats were right behind the driver with 8 inches of leg room....totally ridiculous to expect anyone to travel for a long duration like this!)
*Coach drivers managed to get us lost in Paris, which meant that we were 3 hours behind time (this meant we were separated from the rest of our party as they had been put on the other coach due to the lack of leg room on our coach)
*Hot tub not working for the whole duration of our stay
*Very poor quality ski equipment-I paid for silver skis which had no edges on them, I had to then change them in the middle of the holiday as they were so bad...however they had no other silver or even gold skis to offer me which meant I had to ski the rest of the week on bronze skis (not what I had paid for!)
*Un-trained ski technicians (when given new ski's the girl tried to give me a pair that were far too tall for me)
*Bar not able to offer what is stated on the menu (no beer, mulled wine, or even ice on some nights!!)
*NO Après Ski activities, as was stated in the Snowcoach brochure
*Staff taking up large seating areas in the lounge while guests were left to sit (and on some occasions) stand at the bar!
*Very poor food
*Staff wandering around the hotel in their pyjamas and slippers-very unprofessional
*No fancy dress party after receiving an email to remind us to bring a costume
*No hot water for a shower on our first day
*Fire alarms going off all hours of the day (taking a shower would trigger an alarm!)
*We were given a letter to say we were going home the following day mid-way through our holiday!
*A family member came back one day to find the cleaners had left the keys in the door of her hotel room- which made it available for anyone to go in and take what they like!!

I e-mailed these complaints to Snowcoach back in January when we came back from our holiday and after now sending 5 emails, I am still yet to hear back from them! I think they know that standards have NOT been met and are trying to avoid all of the complaints they have had......I know we were certainly not the only ones who were very unhappy with our holiday with them!

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms on the same floor as the ski lockers.....VERY smelly!!

Brilliant short stay at L'Aigle with Snowcoach with my disabled teenage son.
Skiing was great, food was excellent and staff were really helpful.
Hotel was a little tired, but cozy, clean and comfortable.
Brilliant for families.

We are a family of 5 and just returned from a February half term 8 day ski trip. We didn't expect much from the hotel but it exceeded expectations due to the fantastic staff and great food. Our coach left Watford on time and we had an easy uneventful journey, arriving early on Saturday morning to fresh snow and sunshine. A smiley Rosh climbed on board to welcome us and everything ran smoothly from then on. We were lucky enough to have a room that hadn't been used the week before so after a hearty cooked breakfast we went straight to our room. For those that couldn't get to their room there are shower rooms on each floor with plenty of changing space so it wouldn't have been a problem. The hotel is basic and could do with updating in parts but the staff were great at keeping it clean and Dominique on reception would sort anything out straight away if needed. The fire was always on for a welcome return from the slopes but do be aware that the dining room is chilly! Think practically for packing and make sure you have a warm top for the evening as you'll feel the cold until your first glass of wine! The food also exceeded expectations with a lovely menu and cheerful chef who came out to check his guests every evening. We used the kids club with our 3 girls and the staff (Rosh & Lizzie) were brilliant. They have lots of ideas and art and craft supplies to keep them busy and tie in with the apres ski themes for the evening entertainment. They also took the girls to ski school and waited until the instructor took over and picked them up again when finished. They had fun with the girls but kept the right balance of safety and discipline that I'd expect from professional staff.

The only negative I have is that the coach was not re-stocked for our return journey! This meant there was no water for flushing the toilet or toilet roll and no water for drinks - I'm sure this is something that could be sorted out as the coach was in resort all day and water was plentiful from the hotel taps!! so I will be asking Snowcoach why this didn't happen.

Overall though our experience was great and we would definitely book again.

Room Tip: We had a room for 5 which was very small but apparently there are larger 5 bedded rooms so it is wor...

Arrived home yesterday from a fabulous week's holiday at L'Aigle with Snowcoach. We visited the hotel last year and thought it was good but this year it was excellent. As other reviewers have said, a complete change of staff all of whom have a fantastic attitude. They work hard, they are focused on customer service, they're all friendly & approachable and they make it their business to provide a great holiday experience. Chef John did a fantastic job of providing an excellent menu every night and was great at accommodating any likes and dislikes. We had Josh, Alex and Lizzy as our servers during the week all of whom were great. Our children loved The Cube game, Cluedo and party night as well as the unofficial hide & seek and 40/40!
This is listed as a 2 star hotel and whilst the rooms are basic (could do with a bit of maintenance and updating) they are clean and comfortable and serviced daily if you wish. The ambience, the fire, the hot tub, the sauna, the food and the staff make this a 4 star experience! The communal dining is great and we met some lovely people who became ski buddies! We hope to be back next year. Well done guys.

We have stayed in this hotel many times. Staff very friendly and approachable - always willing to help. Food great, washed down with the free wine. Rooms clean, hot tub, lovely views. Excellent location for skiing. Practically walk out of the door onto the slopes. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
