Been to Club Med Valmorel in winter for skiing but this is a first for the mountain club in summer ... and I wasn't disappointed!

Everyone had a wonderful time with plenty of things to do on offer, and guides, beautiful scenery, great food and entertainment. It rained for two days but still plenty to do. A great summer holiday, despite the rainat times.

This was our first Club Med holiday and so didn't know what to expect. However we were absolutely delighted - the hotel is extremely well run, the staff are fantastic and the food delicious. Everything you need for a perfect holiday has been thought about.

Be aware though that during the summer this seemed to be a predominately french speaking resort but the upside to this was an opportunity for us to practice our French (although most staff do speak English), and to everyone who patiently listened and helped me- thank-you!

My 15 year old really enjoyed the passworld activities as well as the mountain biking. For those who wish to venture out into the mountains, you can sign up for all levels of walks the night before. The guides were excellent and there were a wide range of levels you could try from walks of interest to the all day "black" level ones. We were all delighted on a number of occasions to find that refreshments had been arranged for us away from the hotel during our walks - a really nice touch.

The weather was good whilst we were there and the outdoor pool was very welcome!

The service in this club was just superb. What ever request we had, it was attended in no time. The stuff members are amazing, especially the mini club team - unbelievably friendly, and made our 6 years old daughter feel welcome and participate in all ski and après ski activities willingly. Rooms are ok, clean, efficient, but not spacious or large. The only problem I had with this club, which might as well be an issue in other Club Meds' villages, was the quality of food. Although the variety was impressing, nothing was tasteful. If not for the food, it is a great choice for a family ski vacation, with the right answer for all different family members needs.

Overall the 5 trident 3rd floor is good but with flaws. The plus points are the ease of ski rental and check in services. this is quite important. the lodge is nice but if your travel friends are not also 5 trident than it is useless since you want to be together and cannot invite them. rooms are spacious but could be more comfortable. for example there can be more hooks for coats and ski clothing. no place to put luggage. they end up sitting in the room and take space. internet is not 3G so forget about using youtube or such websites even for work. there is no paid option either. 5 trident has free internet but basic. you cannot pay for 3G connection. this was a big deal since the roaming charges we ended up paying were extremely high.

still, we are a family who prefers suites so if we go again, we will probably still choose the 5 trident. club med ski school is as always perfect for children.

other than these, the food is good for an all inclusive resort and the beverages including alcohol brands are very acceptable. the shows could be better though. same stuff every year.

My first Club Med experience, booked with www.ifyouski.com and stayed in December 2013. I was blown away by the quality of Club Med's package. Very difficult to fault anything here. The rooms are large, comfortable and really nicely furnished. All communal areas are stylish, spacious and clean. Bar very good and food superb. Evening entertainment was cheesy but in a good way, loads of people joined in and enjoyed it but those who didn't fancy it could opt out.

Didn't use any of the child care services but they looked pretty well kitted out from walking past them. Great location right on the piste and overall a fantastic atmosphere. the speciality restaurant was particularly good, with limitless pierrade, fondue and everything else beside.

Superb stay!

From the moment we arrived at this Club Med Hotel we were impressed. Excellent service, good food, fantastic children's clubs, ski schools and facilities. The Hotel has a stylish lounge for guests to relax after skiing and watch the evenings entertainments. This hotel supposed our expectations and we will be returning next year for sure.

The stuff, the mini club, the ski services and the instructors are wonderful. The overall satisfaction of our family was great but there is a big but. The food level is less than mediocre. 2 of my kids and my wife had stomach ache with everything that comes with that, including missing one day of ski. We heard that other people had the same problem. By the middle of the week, we couldn't get into the dining room and ate mainly bars, baggetts and bananas. My 6 years daughter asked me to add to the review that after the first day, there were no cones for the ice cream... Sorry but different ages have different issues.
