“Great stay! very recomended”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

my friend and I ended up having the suit of this great place, just because every hotel in the area didn't have any prooms left.
the price was VERY reasonable, free parking and WIFI availabe.
breakfast was by far the best one we had during our trip.
the room was very big, clean and welcoming.

bare in mind that there is no door to the shower since it's supposed to be romantic.

We stayed here on our way back from Italy for just one night. The room we got was big, almost a suite. The furniture and styling was all brown and beige, but it suited the hotel and it's location.
The spacious room with a nice and firm king sized bed was spotless and had a nice view on the small river.
The breakfast was, even for German standards, perfect with a wide variety of cheeses, ham, fruit, bread and pastries.
We will stay here again!

Typical Black Forest family owned hotel. Clean, helpful and friendly staff. The building is a converted mill with a water mill wheel feature outside one of the bedroom windows! Substantial Black Forest Food!

We've stayed in Glottertal on several occasions and love it as a centre to explore the beautiful country of the Schwarzwald. On this occasion we stayed at the Gasthof Schlossmuhle and we stumbled on a little gem! Easy to find, with good free parking, we were greeted at reception in good English - somewhat unusual for the area - and shown to a lovely room overlooking the valley in which Glottertal sits. We met friends for dinner so never tried the restaurant but did enjoy a glass of wine there later that night. It looked delightful and the menu was just what you would expect from this food loving area. A great night's sleep followed by the best breakfast we found on this years tour! Breakfast was partly buffet and partly served by a lovely woman (clearly one of the children from the family photographs displayed on the wall of the pretty breakfast room). I would highly recommend staying here - either as an overnight stop when driving further into Europe or, better still, enjoy a longer break and discover the joys of the Black Forest! We'll certainly be using the Schlossmuhle again!

Room Tip: Don't worry which room you get - just make sure you get a room here!

My wife and I stayed at this typical German country hotel for one night with our small dog and a couple of friends on our way back from holiday in Italy. The room we were assigned (9) was more like a suite and for us was perfect in every way except one, which was that was it lacked a fridge. We ate in the restaurant and can only commend it, with the quality of the food and service both being excellent. We also ate breakfast the next day, which was also typically German in choice, so cereals, yoghurts, cold meats, cheese, jams and different varieties of bread. We would have lingered longer, but unfortunately had to get back on the road!

A charming country hotel with almost everything you expect and would like to have in a black forest accomodation. The double rooms (and we believe they have nothing else) are almost suites with big modern bathrooms and nicely furnished, country style or modern. The breakfast buffet is rich and offers delicious products of the region. How the restaurant is for dinner we can't say. It was Wednesday when the restaurant is closed. There are enough other places open. My personal recommendation for eating: Gasthaus Adler 50 meters down the street. Ask for the wines of the local cooperation (Winzergenossenschaft) and an "Obstler" (clear Schnaps from fruits, no liquor) There is ample parking. The hotel is easy to be found since it is located on the main street. Don't worry, the traffic is light and not disturbing.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with balcony on the side of the hotel, not facing the street. Room 1 and 2 will do.
