Owner description: With a wide range of premium and luxury brands presented in flagship outlet stores OUTLETCITY METZINGEN offers an incredible date with the stars of the fashion scene. The glamorous star cast from Armani, Etro, Hugo Boss to Polo Ralph Lauren and Ermenegildo Zegna was recently joined by the luxury labels Gucci and Bottega Veneta. Award-winning architecture shapes the urban townscape and thanks to the wide choice of fashion and lifestyle products every visitor will enjoy a fascinating shopping experience with prices reduced by up to 70% throughout the year (compared to the former RRP if there is any). “Will come back for more”
Reviewed 28 June 2014 via mobile

My after hour visit last time is not enough. I reached there at 6, after 45 minutes drive from Lenningen. They only open untill 8.00 pm at weekdays. Tried to be quick but 2 hour wouldn't make it. I'll come back, maybe next time will be a whole day tour in Metzingen with my family. Wait for me Metzingen....

“Bring your credit cards”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

Stopping at Metzingen's Outletcity can take up a whole day or just a few hours. It's hard to come here only for an hour. Expect to walk around the "city" trying to find something you actually didn't want to buy! Whatever the case it's recommendable to go through the products looking for correct sizes and colours. Parking and dining is readily available. The poor credit card :-(

“Nice, laid back shopping outlet and great prices near Stuttgart”
Reviewed 1 March 2014

I accidentally found out about the outlet whilst trying to find out about what there was to do in Stuttgart. I had a few hours to kill before catching my flight back to London but unfortunately the car museums were closed on Mondays, therefore I decided to hang out in the outlets.
I got there by car, it was fairly easy to find using the GPS, however I was surprised that the shops are basically laid out in the middle of Metzingen like a typical town centre. As you enter the town centre in the car you see some of the large stores and small boutiques and there are signs for the car parks which are dotted around the shops. I was expecting it to be more like the US and UK outlets where you just have one large car park and then walk into the shopping village.
There are some outdoor car parks but they are very small so I suggest sticking to the large covered car parks. I wanted to check out the Hugo Boss store so I followed the signs for the Hugo Boss car park. This car park seemed to be quite convenient as it's near the centre of the shops. The Hugo Boss store is huge but there are directions inside to point you to the different sections like suits, Boss Black and the casual ranges. There is a special sale store and also a sample sale shop. I had a quick browse but as I'm a small size there wasn't much choice for me.
I ended up going to Prada for a browse and actually the prices and discounts were very good. It was at least 30% off for the wallets. A black, saffiano leather credit case was on sale for £90, or 110 Euros, whereas on the UK website it's going for £155. A black saffiano bi-fold wallet was on sale for 120 Euros but unfortunately they didn't have any new ones. They had the larger size for £141 or 170 Euros which was selling for £240 on the website. There were mens wool sweaters for 120 Euros or cashmere sweaters for 160 Euros.
I had a quick browse in the Armani store and there were Armani ties for 40 Euros.
If you are keen on outlet shopping I recommend Metzingen as the stores seem spaced out and huge which is refreshing compared to the likes of Bicester Village near London which is always overcrowded and there are always long queues outside the big designer brands like Gucci and Prada. The prices were very reasonable. Admittedly I was there on a Monday afternoon but there are open spaces around the stores so I'm sure you could find an area to chill out if you have had enough shopping. Also it's about 20 mins drive from the airport so an ideal place to kill time before jumping on the plane!
Unfortunately I only had half an hour to browse so definitely hope to be back again soon!

“Worth stopping by for shopping”
Reviewed 28 February 2014

I go often to Germany to meet my relatives. Metzingen is about half-way and I always stop there for some good deals.
Every shop has something to offer and price reductions are quite important. If you are not looking for a specific product but willing to browse for nice clothes, this is in my view one of the best places to go. The mall has recently grown and you can easely spend a day shopping there.
