Little did we know when ringing the landlord at Il Palazetto. We were on a lookout to find something with a balcony, and close to the beach. When asked, the nice lady told us yes to both. And so we arrived. At first we had booked for 4 nites, but after two nites ended up booking the rest of the vacation as we so enjoyed ourselves.
Il Palazetto is a family owned business with such kind people it is hard to describe, We had a spacious apartment with about three balconies overlooking the whole city of Palau, the beautiful rooftops and the gentle slopes in the background are breathtaking.
Il Palazetto is close to everything! We rented bicycles and drove around experiencing the different beaches in the neighborhood. We might as well had walked as everything is close to Il Palazetto. The Tourist info is five minutes, but we did not need it much as the landlady were so kind and having spent a lot of years in The US. - she did a degree in NYC - we had no trouble with english, the knowledge she has about the whole area is amazing. Wearing shorts and a t'-shirt, at night we walked out in the beautiful Sardenian gentleness of the weather being top 10! This was september at it's best! Had a coffee and a snack at the local cafe's so close to us it was a dream.
The breakfast at Il Palazetto is something else. It is being served in the huge dining room in your own apartment! Yes, such luxury! Imagine you wake up, and step into your own living room space in your slippers - and breakfast is on the table! - Mind you, it is not the usual breakfast, it includes delicious homebaked freshly cooked rich chocolate muffins, ripe fruits of different sorts, juice, different kind of local bread, and, the best of all, a scrumptious omelette. Of course coffee, tea and hot milk. All neatly arranged on your own table!
The best I think is that breakfast changes according to your likings, if you favour frut or do not like omelette, you just communicate it and the people at Il Palazetto and they are eager to please you.
The bedroom was splendid. The beds comfy and King size. And the balcony in the bedroom makes sure you have plenty of fresh air from the nite breeze to be able to fall asleep without the aircon on at all. A pleasant surprise for someone who likes it quiet at night! There was even an extra bedroom if the snorring became too much one could move to another bedroom, very luxurious!
Il Palazetto has a huge modern kitchen with a great big fridge and freezer, a microwave etc. Nearby are local shops so you can prepare yourself a great lunch or dinner at home if you do not wish to go to the restaurants which are abundant in Palau. The kitchen has a table and seats lots of people. It also has a french balcony so you just open up the door to the outdoors and the view is great.
To us, it seemed like we were having a true italian experience. Marble floors are all over, the apartment, the people, the place and the service is just great and we recommend this to everyone who likes a bit of personal touch and a feeling of spaciousness.
