Firstly forget the bad reviews for this hotel, it is a fairly new building (3yo) so there will be snagging to be done and there is a few wee bits that could be done with a tidy up but on a building of this size it's not bad, and hey if your gonna let that spoil the fun just stay at home.
the hotel is awsome, when you walk in to the the reception area your greeted with stunning features and if the water features are on at the time it's even better. It's constantly kept clean. The rooms are gleaming with a kitchen area and large bedroom with the sofa bed in the sitting area leading onto a nice balcony with views over the pool and out over the Med and down to Fuengirola.
Dining?? This is all depending on what sort of diet you require but basically there should be something for you on offer. The food could be a little warmer but it was just fine for the kids and I was having loads of salad so didn't really effect me. The Wok Resturant is a delight, just pile the fresh raw meats onto a plate and watch the chef turn it into your meal in front of you.
The outside area is nice with plenty of space for sunbeds areound the pool area. The pool it's self is very child friendly with 3/4 the way round at a dept from toe tickling to just up to waist hieght and even at the deepest part it was up to my chin and I'm a short 5ft 6"
If it gets to warm there is plenty of room to sit in the shaded area which backs onto the snack and drink bars.
Hotel facillities include the shop which has pretty much everything you may need during your stay. There is also a small laundry which we didn't have any problems getting into and using. There's the spa and gym which we didn't bother about so can't comment on that. There is a games room and an internet cafe.
Night time entertainment is pretty much for the kids but hey it is a kids holiday here. Although there is always light music in the Piano bar if you just want to sit and chat with some drinks.
The Beach club..... We only had one visit down there and it is nice and great fun but on the day we went down they closed off two of the main pools so that kind of put us off and the kids wanted to back to the pool at the Polynesia where we stayed for the rest of the trip.
Hotel staff are friendly and helpfull, People have said that they tend to favour the Spanish guests which they probably do but thats only natural as it is in Spain eh??
Over all it was a magical holiday and we are planning a return for our next holiday. Despite it being in a bit of a remote area, you'll have to go to Benalmadena or Fuengirola for things to do away from the hotel. If you enjoy a rummage round the markets then the Market in Fuengirola on Tuesday morning is the one for you.
Forget all the bad reports on this hotel and enjoy your holiday.
Hopefully this report will help you.

I read a lot of reviews before booking this for 2 adults and a 6 and 9 year old, for 11 nights. Some of them described it as a 4 star hotel offering 3 star services and amenities and I agree. The interior of the hotel is WOW but the upkeep of the rooms and the pool area does not match that standard. Having said that, we had a great time and put loads of weight on!!

Pros:
Hotel interior is fantastic.
Food varied with massive choice and good quality. No issues with the temperature.
Bar staff efficient and friendly.
Beach club for kids good and restaurant food excellent.

Cons:
Room floor never cleaned or balcony swept.
Had to go to reception twice to ask for toilet rolls and towels because they had not been left when room was cleaned.
Restaurant staff handling cutlery by the "eating end"
Glass section of the balcony filthy, never cleaned.
Pool area just unimpressive and not that clean with non adjustable sunbeds, couldn't sit up and have a read.

Sounds bad reading it back, it wasn't. We had a great time but having stayed in 4 stars before, it did not feel that standard.

Room Tip: Ask for pool view and you get sea view too

We stayed here the last wk in July first wk of August. It was a short transfer from airport to hotel only dropping of at one other hotel. First impressions of the hotel was just like everyone said wow. Recepton staff were very helpful check in was quick. Thompson reps were great always around when we needed to ask a question and had great knowledge of the local and surrounding area. The room was spacious and was cleaned everyday with fresh towels provided if you put them in the bath. I found the bed very comfortable however my husband didn't (can't please everyone). You have to pay a deposit for the remote and towels which you do get back at the end of you stay (remember to look after your reciept you won't get your deposit back if you don't have it). You do have to pay for your safe (think it was about 3 euros a day) which I think should just be a deposit too. The restaurant's staff were so polite and friendly especially with my three year old boy. Food was lovely with plenty of variety. We did get there as the restaurant opened so it wasnt to busy so we didn't experience waiting for a table and the food was always warm. We always managed to get beds even with an umbrella which you do need with a little one. (watch out though I'm 5'1 and still whacked my head on them a few times). Also there was always beds up by the baby pool which is very quiet if you wanted to get away from the pool activities. However it is a very steep hill to get to not sure if there is another way though. The main pool was great and the animation team were excellent and working out if you wanted to just relax or get involved sure they went around the pool asking most people to join in but left you alone if you said no thank you. My husband did get involved in some of the activities and won 2 bottles of cava, chocolate and an hr in the spa for an adult and child. The animation team were excellent with the children I can't praise them enough they were fantastic with my little boy they worked so hard day and night and put so much effort into there shows and activities. All inclusive does finsh at midnight however with a young child who went to bed at the latest 10 did not effect us.

Just returned on the 28th of August from a one week all inclusive stay with my husband and 10 month old son. From arriving at the airport the holiday reps were there to meet us and escort us to our transfer coach. On arrival at the hotel we were checked in quickly and the only complaint i have is that we had to wait an hour for our hotel room to be ready. The reception staff, restaurant staff and bar staff were polite, friendly and really eager to excell at giving a great service. They were brilliant with children also. The childrens reps were constantly on the go and never seemed to stop. They were fantastic at their jobs. My son loved the hotel mascot, Holi the elephant, who we had breakfast with one morning. The food was delicious and there is always a wide variety of choice. The Uru Wok and Polynesian restaurants are delicious too. Rooms are clean and modern and are cleaned 5 times a week to a high standard. Swimming pools and beach club are always kept clean and tidy. Overall a fantastic hotel which i would confidently recommend to friends and family.

Room Tip: Try and get a pool view room.

All staff were great apart when you reported problems (only 2)...(ok Holiday World rep bit of a pain but only doing her job)

Food is of a poor standard for a 4* Hotel, it is well presented but luke warm if you dont arrive when new servings become available. Yes it is better than UK family beach resorts but they dont claim to be 4*, and for sure you will not go hungry.

The WOK, here you handle your own raw chicken with prongs, my wife was sick a few hours later and later other issues, a 4* hotel should no better. Raw Chicken should be handled by Chefs. I also got the runs at the end of the holiday.

The rooms are adequate we had the best level of room available, 2 small double beds in one room and a pull out bed. Room was cleaned. Aircon rather loud.

Beach Club is good, and not that far away, the hill back upto the hotel is not that bad, many trip hazards of cut poles about 1 to 2 inches above the ground within the pavement. My 7 year old found them cut his knee open and banged his head...Strangely they had cut the majority flush to the ground and potted..taking short cuts...

Swimming pool small compared to the "Village Hotel" pool in the same complex.

My only other concern moving forward I believe they are building a new hotel within the complex already 3 hotels...a further hotel may upset the good balance of the Beach Club.

Poor for a 4* Hotel but excellent for a 3* Hotel - The little things make a London 4* experience a real experience.

Haggle for a good room rate.

Room Tip: if upgrading stay away from room 40 if you want a private(ish) balcony.
