We stayed in June 2012. Hotel rooms are nice, big and spacious with a separate kitchen and big bathroom. We were all inclusive and the food was of an adequate standard for 4 star. However, the bar service is terrible to say the least with long queues of 15 people at times with only 1 member of staff behind the bar! The pool bar doesn't open until 12 noon and shuts at 7pm so you have to go back up the stairs inside the hotel to get a drink. The entertainment was awful, I saw better at a 3 Star I stopped in last year, with the bar by the entertainment only opening at 10pm, the same time the entertainment started. By 11.30pm the entertainment was finished and they then shut the bar and moved you on! There is no where to walk to either as the centre of Benalmadena is a 20 minute bus ride. All in all The Polynesian Hotel opposite was much nicer and I would recommend anyone wanting to stay here to pay the extra and go there instead. The hotel bar didn't open until 10am so you were stuck with tea, coffee and fruit juice at breakfast until the bar opened, which isn't great for children. Would never return.

I always check reviews before I book a holiday so please read before you choose.Firstly I will start with the bad only because I feel this has more influence when booking.
1. The hotel is actually 8.5km from the nearest shops and bars not 1.5km as suggested
2. Taxi to the front is 12 euros or 1.5eur on a bus so does add up.
3. Mini Golf and table tennis need a 20 eur deposit every time so you can't just let the kids play on it without checking reception have the deposit.
4. Breakfast is cold especially the baked beans
5.To eat in the restuarant or to get a drink at the bar you always need to show your room key even though you have a wrist band on!!!!(for all inclusive guests)
6. To use the indoor pool you have to purchase a swimming hat at 3 euros as its compulsary.
7. In the beach club you have to pay to rent a rubber ring at 6 eur per ring with a 15eur deposit per day.

So on to the good... Lovely Hotel maybe a bit dated now but great rooms with massive 4 piece bathroom and seperate shower, living space, kitchen with seperate bedroom. Lovely pool area warm after a while. Food in restaurant ok much better then any other hotel I have stayed in for a while. Entertainment at night got better just before we left they moved it outside after lots of guests complained, bar outside does not open until 10pm. I would go back it the hotel was nearer to the main nightlife as it is sadly in the middle of nowhere. I did have a lovely time but got fed up with deposits on everything oh and you need to give a 10eur deposit for the TV remote control.

Room Tip: Ask for low floor as the hotel is on a hill

Everyone has there own expectations but this really isn't 4 star and I have been to all three hotels now in the complex.

The Gym - Ony three pieces of equpiment, one treadmill, one cross trainer and one bike. The cross trainer was out of order the whole time I was there. The bike you couldn't even move the pedals and the treadmill is very dangerous. Thankfully I have used treadmills all my life so was ok with the fact that the buttons don't work and you can't turn it down!
She won't let you in the gym without trainers either, I book my holidays for a gym and couldn't use this one. Old and rubbish.

The Indoor Pool - Your not allowed in the pool without swimming caps, I didn't use the indoor pool but was told by others it wasn't heated at all.

We e mailed the hotel long before our visit to explain due to certain heath conditions in our party could we please have two rooms low floor next to each other. We were told yes, they would do there very best. Of course guess what, fourth floor apart. While we were there they had Spanish football teams in (kids) that took up the first floor and got half the dining room blocked off just for them.

One memeber of the reception staff is soooo rude,i'll not name, names, it won't take you long to work out who he is if you have to ask him for anything. He was just awful to this little girl who had played mini golf all week. He said it was after 6.30pm and wouldn't let her play, even though the other reception staff had let her. Her Dad came to ask very nicely and he said NO! and when they left he mumbled under his breath about them. Would you call that good customer service.

He was rude to me many, many times and certainly lets the hotel down.

The beach club is down the bottom and shared by all three hotels. You have to pay 20 euro deposit for a yellow ring which they keep 6 euros. So if you have only have one child who wishes to use the slide and wave pool with the yellow ring and your staying for one week take an extra 42 euro's as thats what it will cost you.

At the palace you have to book your diner for the beach club the day before at good old reception. What they don't bother to tell you is that there is a limit (not on) and if you don't book early enough in the day they refuse you your diner over there.

Its plenty big enough for everyone to have there diner and like me you pay enough to entitle you to have your diner over there!

It gets better - the entertainment. The kids entertainment starts way to late for them 9.30pm. Its down stairs by the indoor pool in a big room with a bar. Yet wait for it the bar doesn't open. If you want your drinks you have to go upstairs to the bar next the dining room and bring them alll the way back down stairs with you.

The same with the outside bar by the pool, this doesn't open till 12pm so if you want a drink while you are sunbathing you have to walk/lift back up to the bar by the dining room.

When you check in this happens in all three hotels you are asked for either your credit card or 60 euros deposit. This is in case you break anything in your room. Check you room over straight away and report the damage or you will be charged for this. I had a broken hair dryer, shelf in the fridge broken and in the other room broken beading.

The rooms would of been lovely when it first opened, plenty of space, but now run down and in need of paint. They are however clean.

On your first day you are left two bottles of water in your room, but then that stops. They don't give you bottles of water over the bar, so you end up buying bottles in the shop 1.20euro.

The Food - well it was hit and miss really. There is a microwave to heat it up, only one coffee machine in the morning, thankfully we are always up early so avoided the queues with that one. The food is much better at the other two hotels, we ate at the beach club dinner times so at least if it was rubbish in the evening we had, had something. They served chicken portions and pork chops every night. Be very careful with the chicken it was done on the outside and pink and raw inside!

The staff in the dining room are friendly but quite obviously scared of the man who runs it. He doesn't seem like a nice man to work for.

Over rall if you get this holiday cheap and all inclusive and have the sun you'll be ok. If you paid a lot for the promise of four star then don't bother.

I booked this hotel on the strength of having stayed in the Holiday Village 2 years ago. It's on the same par in appearance, cleanliness, food etc, but the entertainment is poor. It's in Spanish with broken English, but they are friendly & try to do a good job. The kids club during the day is good & runs from 11- 2 & 3-5pm, with a varierty of things for them to do. The only evening entertainment for the kids is a mini disco which doesn't even start til 9.30 & ends at 10pm for the adult entertainment to start.
I do feel it partially falsely advertises it's self as it & the Polynesia both show the Beach Cub as their picture on all sites(water park attached to the Holiday Village), you can use it but you need to book the restaurant if you want to eat there & this books up very quickly each morning.
The rooms are cleaned everyday & fresh bed linen & towels everyday.
There are a lot of British say here & there is a good friendly atmosphere arround the pool. You are given towel tickets when you arrive which allows you fresh pool towels each day (all inclusive guests), this is great as you don't need to pack beach towels.
Good hotel, nice staff, poor for older kids or anyone wanting good evening entertainment.
It's a taxi ride to both Benalmadena & Fungarola so it can be costly to stay here on a self-catering basis as a taxi into either is at least 10 euros each way & the food in the hotel is overpriced. I do feel all inclusive was good value, especially with kids who want something & then don't eat it.

Excellent Good Quality Hotel, Friendly Staff, & Good Food. Entertainment is very limited for Adults & Teenagers. It is however,O.K. for young children. The Food is good & varied. However, to get the best of this Hotel, you MUST select All Inclusive!. Otherwise, it will Cost you a small fortune!. Forget about any Local Bars,Supermarkets & Restaurants. You Must Travel by Bus or Taxi to either Benalmadena,Torremilonas or Fuengirola for a good selection of Shopping,Eating,Bars,Etc. Also, there is a VERY Steep Hill from the Main Road Entrance up to the Hotel. A Free Local Shuttle Bus is provided from the Hotel to the Main Road. However, this is Limited from 10am to 6pm Only. There is No Wi-Fi generally available in the Rooms as sometimes stated. It is Charged and Limited to the Reception & Lobby areas. Room Service is excellent. This is a Hotel for those who are happy to stay in ONE location for their Holiday. It will NOT suit Families,Couples or Singles who want easy access to a variety of Choices. Please be aware that your All Inclusive will NOT cover Food & Drink in the other Three Hotels on the Site. It does cover the Beach Club which is a Shared Common facility for all Four Hotels. (It Gets Busy from early Morning). Most Bus Fares are Approx. €1.50. Per Person. All Taxis Booked from the Hotel are at a 30% Discount. Taxis Only Carry Four Adults or Children. The Hotel Pool Bar is Excellent and its Staff are very Friendly & Welcoming. However, its Hours are from 10am to 7pm Only. The Snacks & Drinks are Good. Remember, Do Not Book Anything Except All Inclusive at this Hotel. This would be a much better Venue if the All Inclusive provided Free use of all the Bars & Restaurants of the Four Hotels onsite. Also, the Shuttle Bus & Pool Bar Hours should be Extended from approx. 09.00. to 23.00hrs. The Hotel really needs to Provide Wi-Fi in ALL Public & Room Areas. Remember, this is a Good Hotel if you do not want or need Variety or the Option of Eating & Drinking outside of the Premises. It is not good if you want choices.

Room Tip: Try to get the Fifth or Sixth floors on either the Sea facing or side of the Hotel over the Reception Entrance. Avoid the Rooms over the Bar side or Rear of the building.
