My wife and both sets of parents have just returned from a long weekend at the holiday palace.First and fore most when walking into the hotel reception you get that sense of this hotel is a bit special feeling. We booked this long weekend as separates ie flight hotel etc etc and it was the first time we have done this. Can I just say we paid only 500 pounds per couple for 4 days that included flights transfers and hotel and did I mention that it was also all inclusive too.The weather in march was some what of a surprise as we had a few showers on the first day and then amazing sunshine for the rest 27 degrees at dinner time while all our mates in England were freezing there nads off. The holiday palace is mainly green inside and contains a shop restaurants, bar games room (the Polynesia hotel games room is far far better) and an indoor pool and spa( um very nice). We were given rooms 404,405, and 406. The rooms were all of the same lay out as the holiday village and nothing was any different. We felt the difference having stayed in the Polynesia as you do miss the flat screen television with the English channels and the better bed but the beds we had weren't that bad to be honest.
The service we received was of excellence and the staff could not of done any more to please us.
The food was as always is on all inclusive and as always can get a bit repetitive by the end of your stay. There was always plenty on the menu ie salad meat vegetables soup lots of different breads and loads and loads of different puddings. We obviously ate plenty.
We used the indoor pool and spa. The pool which we thought was heated was not but very big and spacious. The sauna and steam room were out of order so I can't comment on those. The jacuzzi was very nice indeed and just what the doctor ordered. You have to put a 15 euros deposit down to use the spa of which the whole lot is returned when you return the towels and stuff that they provided.(a tip is don't return the towels until, the end of your stay and use them for the whole of your stay returning them the day before you go home. If you don't every time you go to use the spa they charge you 1 euro for clean towels.)
The shuttle bus still runs even though its out of season just let the reception desk know and the call the driver for you. When coming back up the hill just inform security and they call the driver for you too.
A word of warning and I suggest you please read this it is very true like they are reporting in the press about the Brits being targeted by thieves. My mom was robbed on the bus 120 which runs right outside the hotel. They were young girls all wearing sunglasses and they kept staring at my mom which made her uncomfortable. We now now that this was part of there plan cos while my mom was worrying about why they kept staring at her they robbed her purse from her bag taking 100 euros. It wasn't until we got off the bus that my mom checked her little bag and then the inevitable was realized. We were standing on the buss as it was crowded and do feel if she were sat down then it may not of happened but after speaking to tourists this seems to be very common so please please please keep your guard up. My parents were able to replace the 100 euros but not everyone can and it may ruin your holiday.
Overall a very very nice stay in the holiday palace and we will be returning of that I a sure.
