Holiday Palace
Ranked #28 of 45 Hotels in Benalmadena
Reviewed 28 August 2014

I stayed here from 11 - 22nd August with my daughter (8) my friend and her daughter (9). This hotel and the facilities in the group of hotels have everything you need in a holiday. I was very apprehensive, as we had booked (optional in this hotel) fully inclusive and wasn't convinced about eating all my meals in a buffet!

Plus points;
No reserving of sunloungers in the morning (take your time @ bfast and there is still loads of space @ 11:30
Kids club, varied activities that you can sign in and out of
Food - loads of choices, essentially spanish food with some english, I am a foodie, so ate all the spanish dishes
Staff - very friendly welcoming and helpful
VERY safe resort, our girls had some freedom here, as it secure in the whole complex, people who are not staying here can not even get to the road!
Shuttle bus to beach club
Shuttle bus to beach (although we didnt go, great service to offer)
Indoor pool where no children are allowed until after 2pm meaning i could swim

Other things;
Entertainment in the evening, although enthusiastic, was fine, also walk to their other hotel over the road for other entertainment which is a bit better (in my opinion)
This is a very spanish resort, with mainly spanish guests, I loved this, but some may not.
Rooms spacious but quite basis, but how much time do you spend in the room in august
constantly drinking out of plastic cups in the evening, I know why as its by the pool, but you do get to crave a glass!
Not sure why towels, TV remote, safe and wifi are not included in the price, but not unreasonable charges

This was a lovely hotel, rooms were great and very clean, we went for a weekend break and really enjoyed it. Food was great, we originally booked bed and breakfast but upgraded to all inclusive. Used the indoor pool and jacuzzi, close to the beach but a little out of the port but easily accessible by taxi. All in a nice break.

Clean but a bit tired tiles missing in pool spar lights in pool hanging out
Sun beds stretched so uncomfortable
Staff great but entertainment is dull and cheap need to do better as there is not nowhere else to go but good for kids
I was sold a self catering holl but had to pay to go all inclusive £600 on day two if I did not want to live on ham sandwiches and cereal .
should not sell self catering as it's impossible to do here

Room Tip: Wifi poor speeds not in room after paying for it at 12 euro

Just returned from a weeks stay AI and can now see why so many reviews are mixed.
Rooms: large, clean, big bathrooms, cleaned daily, safe (charged) and wifi (charged)
Food: very good, large choice for a 4 star, similar to others we have stayed at. I agree with other comments about food often being cold.
Entertainment: daytime - lots to do if you want, nighttime - very hit and miss.
Facilities were tired compared to the other newer hotels in the same complex.
Pool: good, plenty of sunbeds and option to go to beach club (book lunch before 10.30am the day before)
Spa: Indoor pool was lovely but the gym definitely needs some attention.
Overall our stay was lovely. The hotel is much smaller than the other 2 (Polynesia & Village) and seems to attract predominantly Spanish guests.

Estimada Sra.

Nice hotel especially when u can visit 3 other hotels in the complex as well but cant use ur all inclusive at them. A courtesy bus taking u to the water park which is fab. Lovely pools and a slide which rubber rings have to be purchased also at the water park there is a restaurant but u must book with ur hotel the day before but its deffo worth it as its well run and had lots of selection and nice and hot and there u can use ur all inclusive.
Rooms were big and lots of space. Nice balcony and equipped kitchen with fridge utensils etc. Air conditioning only has 2 settings on or off so it blows loudly and thats it. Cleaned nicely every day. Shower and bath with two sinks so plenty of room. Downside 2 double beds in one room but there is a sofa bed in lounge. Safe will cost u per day as does wifi.
Facilities were good. Pool nice safe for small kids. No rush for sunbeds cos mainly Spanish families who tend to come down later in the morning. Entertainment guys very good had adults and kids all joining in with games etc. Evening was ok some nights good some not so good but ok Food by the pool not bad but if u dont like what they put out u can ask for stuff on the menu just check its under all inclusive.
Now the dinning. My only criticism is the food is nicely presented but can be a bit on the cold side. Even when u get in there at opening time food is cold. For example jacket potatoe wrapped in foil was cold. Chips were cold. Meat was on the cool side. This seems to be the main criticism on most reviews. Hot water out of the tea/coffee machine was not hot so use the microwave to heat it up. Overall there was a good selection salad was extremely nice and plenty of puddings but sadly no cheese and biscuits. Then on other days the food was warmer so it was a little inconsistent.
Staff very helpfull and welcoming.
hardly any queue for drinks.
If u want a decent cup of coffee u have to buy them or there is a nice shop that sells milk coffee etc so u can do most things in ur room.
Nice holiday overall kids had a great time and so did we. Its worth a visit or have a look at the sister hotel the polonisha (check spelling) it looked fab inside very modern.
Would deffo go back!!!!

Just returned from an 11 night stay. The rooms are lovely and clean and a huge bathroom. We had a room on the top floor and had a lovely view of the montains and could also see the sea. My 2 children aged 11 + 12 really enjoyed maxi club and made lots of friends both english and spanish. We never had to fight for sunbeds and could also go down at 2pm and still get a sunbed. We never had to wait for a table at the restuarant as others tended to go down alot later. Overall the hotel is lovely with friendly staff and the waterpark is a very good visit. The only down side was on a very few occassions the food was tepid but this didn't spoil our holiday and would say its a great family holiday.

Just came back from a 10 might stay with my husband and a 7 and 3 year old, hotel was great loads of room in the room separate shower and bath and really cool air con. Great thing was the quiet nights because if the location once 12 came everywhere was quiet. I have a fussy daughter and I'm a vegetarian but there was always plenty to choose from at all meal times I particularly liked when they would cook your meat fish pancakes etc fresh another positive was there was never a problem with sunbeds any time of day. One slightly negative comment would be for the water park to be honest I don't think it truly describes the facility my kids were disappointed by the lack of slides and not what they/we expected although for an hour or so break from the pool it did the trick.

Dear Mr. Jonny, thanks for a holiday in our hotel and for commenting on this website.
Thanks for the positive comments on the facilities, food and the pool.

I feel that his son had higher expectations of the Waterpark, therein if I can not help you, sorry...
I hope to see you in a new occasion, carefully.
