Stayed for a long weekend, the food and accomodation was first class. It was not too far from the promenade and was quiet, the entertainment was great. We were there when the over 60s were there and it was lovely watching them enjoying themselves. We will be going back again, the only thing that spoilt it was the waiters and the bar staff who dont know how to smile

We are just back from 5 nights here and had a great time. The hotel is away from the very centre of Benalmadena but in easy walking distance of all areas, it is set back, off the main road, but the hill mentioned by others is not a problem and I would not have mentioned it had others not. The hotel is very laid back and relaxed and we found the staff to be friendly and helpful. the two pools are unheated, and in October we needed to be brave, one is under cover though so is warmer. there are pleasant gardens with play areas for kids although there were no kids at the hotel while we were there.
The food at the hotel was of unlimited quantity it was well cooked and in buffet format. If you were hungry you could fill your plate as often as you wanted and many did. there was a wide range of hot food, salads with cheeses and cold meats, soup, desserts and lots of fresh fruit . Wine and soft drinks were available at the bar and could either be put on your room bill or paid cash at the time. We went half board as we like to sample the local fare. The hotel food was not typically Spanish, but there was no shortage of tapas, seafood etc available locally. The room was more than adequate, a reasonable size but not luxurious and had Air Conditioning which worked. It had a good sized balcony, effective light excluding curtains, it was kept very clean and had extremely comfortable beds, with good quality cotton sheets, the bedding and towels were changed every day. It had a good ensuite bathroom with wash hand basin, wc, bidet, bath and over bath shower. Contrary to other comments, we found the cleaning staff to be very friendly and if your 'do not disturb' sign was up then they left you in piece. The entertainment in the hotel each night was varied and over the five nights, included a bird of prey show, various singers and an excellent flamenco show.
We like to get out and about when on holiday and found a variety of places to visit. Travel is really easy with a good bus service in Benalmadena itself and between the nearby towns also we found the taxis to be reasonably priced. We went by train one day to Malaga for the day and thoroughly enjoyed visiting the old town and monuments there. Nearer at hand if you leave the seafront area, there are some lovely shops up the hill on the way to the station in Benalmadena. Try to go up to Benalmadena Pueblo (Old village), visit the castle on the way up which is a homage to Christopher Columbus. Mijas old town is also nearby and is full of fabulous cafes and restaurants, more up market small shops, and some amazing views!

I read some of the reviews before travelling to Los Patos. I was quite concerned. This turned out be a complete fiction.WE spent 2 weeks there.WE had a marvelous time ,in a beautiful ,well appointed ,well managed hotel. The staff were most professional, well trained .The food was excellent .The amenities including 1 outdoor pool and an indoor were first class.I would recommend this hotel to any treaveller.

Went for a weekend & all chose half board. Food was tasty & there was a variety of cold & hot food available.. Waiters collected empty plates but they didn't offer drinks. You had to go to the bar & pay them there & then, not on a tab. Rooms really clean but very basic & old fashioned decor. Pools a nice size & there was a lifeguard. Taxi to the Marina where the nightlife is costs about 7 Euro in the evenings. If you don't want a taxi then brace yourself for 30-minute walk to reach there. Only complaint was housekeeping who began to clean at 9am & were really, really noisy. Having come in after a big night out it was a bit of a downer. Hotel should place wheels beneath beds so the cleaning staff don't drag them across the floor. Also having loud conversations in corridor just outside our door.
