Stayed at this hotel with my husband early October on half board basis. Polite staff, very clean rooms, housekeeping done everyday. Breakfast & dinner, great choice of foods, hot & cold. Didnt use the swimming pool so cant comment although I believe it cost 2 euros for a sun bed, good idea as this stops selfish people putting their towels on beds and blocking anyone from usng them. Beach about 10/15 min walk depending on which route you take. Loads of shops and bars around at the bottom of the road. Be aware its a fairly steep walk back up to the hotel, but use it as a good way to walk off that heavy meal or drink you may have had. If you turn left out of the hotel and walk up the hill, plenty of bars and restaurants as well, turning right takes you down the hill to the main road where you can get buses to other towns. Taxi from airport takes about 15 to 20 euros one way. If you want to come by train from Malaga airport then station to get off is Arroyo de la Miel but its a 20 min walk to hotel, taxi from station to hotel shouldnt cost more than 6 euros. All in all a good hotel to stay in. Tried to book hotel for a short break over New Years but they were closed for refurbishment till April. Would definitely book this hotel again.

Reception check in was quick and easy. Nice clean rooms we had 2 rooms one was pool view the other was a road/sea view pool view was the better of the two. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was of a good standard and plentiful The beach is about 10 mins away down hill 35mins on the way back up be warned it is very steep. There are plenty of shop's and bars a short walk away. There is no sun bed rush the life guard hands them out for a cost of 2 euro's a day which I thought was great. Entertainment was ok during the day didn't stay in at night so can't comment. We loved the area and would defo return to the San Fermin.

Room Tip: you can see the sea if you stay road side

Me and 5 other friends went last summer and had a great time! We were aged 17/18ish and were going for a girl party holiday. The hotel is very close to 24hr square (5/10 min walk) and is close to beach also. We loved the little balcony we got and had drinks there before we went out which was fun. Good pool area, wasn't too busy when we were there. Food was pretty good, we got half board- there's a big buffet style dinner and breakfast and you can always find something you like. Overall we had a great holiday and would recommend it to anyone. Great for party holiday like ours but also for family holiday as it wasn't too loud or anything. Thanks San Fermin!

Just back (Oct 2011) from San Fermin - i was going to complain about the sun bed charge, i was going to forwarn future holiday makes not to ring home from their room. But do you know something -i knew about the sun bed charge before i went - and I should have enquired about the cost of the phone calls before i rang home from the luxury of the bedside phone!!. My stay was lovely-in fact surprisingly so-considering the cost! The rooms were basic but perfectly adequate and cleaned daily. The food- anyone who complains about that food needs their head examined! it was lovely!! The entertainment- a bit on the Spanish side but what do we expect in Spain- tell you what -they are great dancers!!! The manager may have thought he could buy me with two complimentary bottles of wine- well do you know something he succeeded-he is such a pleasant, people friendly person that my comments on the sun bed price was swept away by his charm and it was definitley not smarm! He is hands on and it shows. The hotel is lucky to have such a nice manager even if he does travel to Cork and not Belfast!!!!

We stayed at the San Fermin in September. This is our third stay here and if you are looking for a good, spotlessly clean typical 3 star hotel to use as a base then this is ideal. Its reasonably priced and the meals are tasty with plenty of choice considering they are catering for different nationalities. The staff on reception are helpful, and the dining room staff are very nice. The rooms are basic but very clean with a nice bathroom with lashings of hot water and a really good shower. We didn't stay around the hotel much after breakfast and after the evening meal as most of the entertainment is catering for the Spanish guests which is fair enough as we are in Spain and If booking for September expect lots of Spanish and French pensioners on coach trips. 'Cardiac' Hill is no problem at all and all the reviewers that warn about it must be very unfit or very old. A visit to Paloma Park is a must as is Mijas which is a service bus ride away. All in all this hotel serves its purpose very well for a cheap holiday in the sun.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms overlook the garden and get sun afternoon and evening, front of hotel rooms can see...
