The siroco is a value for money hotel in a good location for town and beach.
We find it highly suitable for our annual holiday with our grandson. The hotel benefits from its low rise design and excellent garden and pools for toddlers and swimmers. There are activities for kids at the mini club and activities such as bouncy castle and mini disco. The food is good and the staff eager to please and efficient. Our fifth visit and I will return next year.

This is the best 3 star hotel we have stayed in, it certainly seemed like a 4 star to us. Rooms were large and airy, cleaned every day by pleasant staff. We stayed half board and the food was plentiful and varied, if there was any complaint it would be that the food could have been hotter. Really convenient for the lovely marina.

Room Tip: Over looking the pool and sea

Just returned from holiday at this hotel , its clean the rooms are lovely but unfortunately if your in a room overlooking the pools its very noisy at night when the entertainment is on between 9.30 and 11.30 and up to midnight when the bar staff are tidying up and moving around table and chairs the entertainment is mostly Spanish related so not easy to understand unless you speak the language , the food in restaurant is very good choice especially there theme evenings , when the staff dress in costumes according to the meal provided , bedrooms are nice but bolster pillows uncomfortable most staff are nice and friendly unfortunately found the reception staff not so obliging at times , shame as they are first people you meet , the gardens in hotel are very nice would we stay here again probably not only because of the noise from entertainment ( which is too loud )....when its performed on the patio and stage outside the bar ........

Room Tip: best bedrooms I would think would be away from the entertainment not in the front

We have just returned from the Siroco following an 11 day break at the end of August. First of all this hotel in our opinion is the best 3 star we have stayed in previously.

Food: There is so much choice in the restaurant you wont struggle to find something to eat. The hotel put on theme nights pretty much every night including Mexican, Turkish, Chinese, Andalucian etc. Some nights I was spoilt for choice whether it be a meat or fish dish. There is a grill chef who cooks steaks, fish and burgers and at breakfast time he is there to make you fresh omelettes and pancakes with your choice of fillings, this is every day. Really impressive.

Rooms & Pools: The rooms are spotless and cleaned every day. We have stayed in some 3* hotels where they dont clean every day but not here. The towels are changed every day and it was nice to come back to your room with a freshly made bed. The hotel lobby and pool areas are also very clean and the hotel has lovely gardens which are well maintained. There are 3 pools and enough sun beds to go round if you dont leave it too late, people do tend to reserve sunbeds which is what we did after a couple of days. Bar prices are reasonable and daily cocktails are put on offer, we enjoyed the ice cold margaritas for only 2 euros.

Entertainment: This is the only thing that let the hotel down, the entertainment was poor. The majority of entertainment is aimed towards Spanish guests and the acts were pretty boring. We waited up until 9.30pm for the mini disco to start one night at which point the children had started to get tired and lost interest, it should be on earlier for sure and not just be aimed at Spanish children. Also the Disney show was all in Spanish and very hard for our 2 girls to follow. The other acts consisted of singers with the most monotone voices you've ever heard singing songs like 'Delilah' and other golden oldies. I think the hotel should remember this is a family hotel through the summer and this entertainment would be better suited in the winter months for the older guests a bit more variety would be beneficial.

Location: The hotel is situated in pretty much a perfect location for getting to the beach, catching the bus, grabbing a bite to eat at lunch or for a nice walk to the Marina which is only 10 minutes walk away. It takes about 5 minutes to get to the beach front where there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. The marina is lovely at night and well worth a visit.

Overall we were very impressed with the Sirocco but just a little let down with the entertainment. We would definately return again but would hope for better run entertainment next time.

Room Tip: Take a spare credit card / store card with you, place it in the room key holder when you leave keeps the air con on for your return

On arrival the coach drops you outside the hotel barrier on quite a steep hill be careful your suitcase doesn't roll away as the coach driver just drops them on the path. The check in process took about ten minutes because they put all your passport information in to the hotel computer on your arrival staff quite present . The cost of the hotel safe which is electronic you put your own number code in costs 2euros a day. Air con was free June to middle of September. Hotel rooms decent size 2 big twin beds double wardrobe not enough hangers though and no chest of draws. Bathroom clean decent shower no problems with water changing temperature when you are using it.
We stayed half board plenty of breakfast selection bacon eggs (fried ,scrambled, boiled) cereals, toast, fruit, smoothis. evening meal again plenty of options meats, pasta, salads, burgers. They also have theme nights with different nationality foods. The problem we had in the dining room was it is. Very warm the air con isn't very good so you find a few insects flying around . The waiting staff in the dining room work very hard as this is a very busy dining room. The pool is good plenty of sun beds we never had any problem getting beds however it is quite noisy due to the main road and the constant twittering of the birds in the trees. If you visit the marina which is about a ten minute walk away it is quite expensive for meals and drinks. Plenty of local bars. This hotel is on a very steep hill so if you have walking difficulties be aware however there is an entrance to the hotel from the bottom of the hill but then you have quite a few steps. For kids there is a mini club and a small pool for toddlers. If I visited benalmedina again would I stay here probably.
