“School visit to the hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2014

I stayed here during the Easter holidays with a school party and I can only speak of the hotel and its staff in a positive light. The rooms were ready despite us checking in really early (10.30am) and the children were very pleased with the rooms (especially the ones who were lucky enough to have a big studio-I have seems smaller houses!). The food was also excellent and the staff were very friendly with all of the students encouraging them to speak Spanish.
The rooms were what you would expect for 3 star but I must say the food was more like 4*. Obviously the kids were not drinking so don''t know about the quality of the alcohol in the hotel.

The only real rip off was the WIFI - a lot of students paid to have it for 4 days and after about an hour it did not work and the hotel refused to give them a refund - apart from this we really enjoyed our stay here and despite it being early April the pool was not too cold!

Room Tip: Ask for a studio!

Rooms ok, standard 70s fare with recent upgrade to bathroom, but flooding was a problem due to inadequate shower screen! Plumbing was very noisey!!
Rooms over reception street side are very noisey at night! But do get a lot of sun during the day!
Bad point of rooms is one electrical socket and one in the bathroom!!
Hotel has seen better times as staff explained a reduction in staff, they all seemed ran off their feet but everyone apart from an older man and a woman on reception were very helpful!
Huge tip... Don't get wifi it doesn't work and you face an argument to obtain a refund!
Now the food... Breakfast was great with plenty of choice... My tip is stock up... The evening meals are poor!!! I vomited into a napkin the first evening I was there!!! Look put for very boney fish and undercooked chicken!!! Most 'hot' food was lukewarm!
The restaurant is poorly ran, almost chaotic but the staff there did their best!
The pool are and grounds are lovely and the outdoor lounge area is especially nice to relax in.
The location is perfect for the marina and catching local buses to all the sights.
I wouldn't waste money on all inclusive at this hotel but if you want a comfortable location for the three star price this does the job, it's a shame the hotel has seen better days!

Just stayed here for 3 nights in April 2014.

The hotel is in an absolutely fantastic location right behind Puerto Marina. 1 minute walk from the gate in the grounds to the marina.

We had a suite. Size wise it was huge. Massive balcony with brilliant views, large lounge large bedroom and large bathroom. The decor was standard jaded 70s Spanish Costa hotel style. Seen better days but clean and functional. Fridge was barely working. Bathroom very recently renovated to a good standard, but with a good whiff of drains every now and then. Some of the rooms to the back of the hotel have very 'urban' vista's.

As mentioned Reception staff are grumpy and downright unhelpful. We were B&B and the breakfast waiters seemed to have been to the same charm school as the receptionists. Food at breakfast OK but no better.

Aircon advertised in room but grumpy reception man told us in no uncertain terms that it was only available from the end of June!

Good points - Location, Room size, Price

Bad points - Seasonal Aircon, Grumpy staff, Smelly bathroom drains.

We would stay here again.

We spent a week here before Easter. Very nice H10 hotel. The rooms were adequate and very clean. The staff, apart from reception, were unfailingly pleasant and helpful. Although the dining room was always packed and busy the service and food were fine. Large buffet, which does get a bit 'samey' after a week but always something tasty to eat. Despite the numbers eating, the pool area was always quiet and sun beds were always available. This may have been due to the large numbers of older, Spanish guests! Also the evening entertainment suited them more than us. Puerto Marina is at the bottom of the garden so plenty of alternative choices in the evening. We were there during part of Holy Week so trip to Malaga to see some of the processions was a must. Palm Sunday procession in Benalmadena was interesting as well. All in, a very relaxing chill out week, no hassles, no complaints.

Room Tip: Pool view for a little morning sun but other side for sun in the afternoon and evening.

Hotel is in an excellent location and our room had a pool and sea view. Rooms are basic but clean. However, the bathroom was modern with a power shower but no bath. The food was as expected for a 3 star - usual choices for breakfast. The pool area was spotlessly clean and well maintained and there is an indoor pool, sauna and a Jacuzzi if the weather isn't great. The hotel staff weren't particularly friendly and spoke very little English. There were a large amount of Spanish OAP's who were rude and did not feel they needed to wait in a queue for anything! We used the hotel as a base due to its excellent location next to the marina. We ate and drank around the marina and prices were reasonable. Also drank in the 24 hour square which was an experience - look out for the grabbers trying to man handle you in to the pubs and the pick pockets!! I would return to this hotel, but only to use as a base and certainly wouldn't stay All Inclusive as so much going on outside the hotel with endless restaurants, bars and nightlife.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view as other rooms look on to other hotels or derelict land so not very private. Onl...

I stayed here for 5 days with my school group and the place overall was quite tidy, the rooms weren't all that great but met our needs as teenagers, some of the staff member had manners, but other lacked in it. Be wary of possessions as cleaners did move around and touch possessions. The food was very nice and a wide selection for both breakfast and dinner. The town across the street was incredibly useful and the beach was also very beautiful and 5mins away. Overall pleased with the hotel however more respect was needed for people whether they are old or younger.
Also, they wanted 4 Euros a day for WiFi that didn't work when in the town there was free wifi so don't bother and the views from my room were stunning.

Room Tip: corner suites near the front of the hotel were perfect for 4 people and had amazing views of the are...

Stayed for 5 days in March with group of friends. Location is great although set on a bank so wouldnt recommend for people with walking difficulty. 2 minutes from Marina and 5 minutes from 24hr square. Hotel its self was clean and well maintained. We had 3 to a room and it was a bit tight and could have done with more electric sockets as only 1 in bedroom and 1 in bathroom. Good wardrobe space overall decor bit dated. We had pool view but couldnt see pool for huge tree! Bathroom was small and we had shower only no bath which didnt drain very fast. Safe is 3euro per day plus 10 euro deposit. Pool area was lovely very clean, plenty sunbeds, prob as the other nationalties though it too cold to sunbath. there was also a nice sitting area near another bar area which was closed. We stayed all inclusive and drinks were from 11am - 11pm with plenty choice. Pepe was excellent at the bar very friendly and always remembered our tipple. The staff were all nice and the waiters in the restaurant were good too. Order wine with dinner get the bottle!! The restaurant was buffet service - salad bar, hot selection etc. Only problem we experienced was rude people but thats not the hotels fault thats people with no manners thinking dont need to q! Food was plentiful you wont starve but could do with being served hotter and would prob be repetitve on a longer stay, and with more sauces/spices. We didnt bother with the entertainment but there was various things on. We loved the ice bar, sultan bar, kaleido all down Marina!! For a 3* hotel it offered good value and we would stay again.

Room Tip: If you get a good deal on junior suite take it! Extra space advantage.
