I went with two of my brothers and we shared a one bed apartment. The idea was to play some golf and generally crash out and catch up.The weather was abissmal but that only allowed us more time to catch up on matters. Our stay was super .The Hotel was excellent in many ways, very spacious, very clean and all the staff without exception were very friendly and efficient. It is situated literally on the beach and has its own swimming pools ( should you go at the appropriate time of year !) We enjoyed the many small villages in the vicinity also. We certainly would put it on the list for a future trip at a more appropriate time of year , weatherwise ie.
The help desk for organizing Golf was fantastic also and arranged some very good deals for us.
Many thanks - Hasta luega in 2012

We are just back after having spent one week at the Sunset. We are 2 families and had 2 adjoining apartments on the 6th floor (625 and 627). The first 5 days of our holiday went well - beautiful sunshine and plenty to do - but disaster struck on day 6. I discovered that my son had head lice as he was scratching his head. Then we checked my brother's children's hair and discovered that they also had it. This really ruined the last 2 days of our holiday, looking for lice products, applying it, and spending hours combing the hair. We really wished we had not gone on holiday. This was a big shock and we're still dealing with the problem!
This was definitely picked up at the Sunset. We go on holidays several times a year and stay at hotels but never had a problem like this.
To make it even worse, I discovered huge cockroaches in the bathroom also on the last 2 days of our stay. Our holiday really finished up being a disaster.

Dear Traveller,

Thank you for taking the time to write your review on Tripadvisor.

I was very sorry to hear of the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the last 2 days of your holiday with us. I understand that it must have been distressing for you but would like to assure you that we constantly strive to ensure that our hotel is kept spotless 24 hrs a day. As you can see in many of our previous reviews here on Tripadvisor, our cleanliness and housekeeping scores are consistently high, this is why I was surprised at your comments.

Although you state in your review that this head lice problem was “definitely picked up at the Sunset”, I would like to point out that it is highly unlikely that this was the case. Medical research clearly states that the incubation period for head lice is at least one week and usually longer. As you had only been with us for 5 days, it is most likely that your son picked up the problem before arriving at our hotel (as I am sure you are aware, they can be picked up anywhere and usually through direct contact with another child).

Once again, I am sorry that you’re holiday with us was spoilt by this unfortunate situation and assure you that we will continue working to achieve the highest qualities of cleanliness throughout our hotel.

Staff were extremely helpful, found excellent rooms for the family groups. Facilities were limited as we were out of season. Hotel was clean and tidy, with regular changes of bed linen and towels. Overall an excellent holiday hotel.

This is a super hotel to stay in- plenty of activities during the afternoon. The people in charge of activities are wonderful and friendly-Tony, Rossi and Raul.

Room Tip: South facing or you would be facing the main road and no sunshine.

We stayed at this hotel over chrisrmas this year, and i have to say it was one of our best christmases in spain we have had.The christmas day gala lunch was great, everyone was up dancing to the live music that was on and the atmosphere was great.
The hotel is loverly,we where lucky enough to get a room with a fantastic view of the sea and pool area, the hotel is spotless and clean and the staff and service is great even christmas day when they all had to work they were smiling.
There are 3 out door pools and the middle one was heated, not really warm but good enough so the kids could swim in it,my son had a brill time(age 10).
The only thing is there is not much for kids in the evening but my son made lots of friends and went to the games room, and they all played on there game consoles together.
All in all we will be back next christmas without fail, FANTASTIC!!!

Room Tip: Book a sea view room.

Stayed in the Sunset beach Club for a week in November. There were lots of activities on each day and music at night. Restaurant was ok, not a huge choice but service was good and Cava better! Apartments were clean and well equipt.

Room Tip: We booked a two bed room apartment, very spacious and lovely view of the pool and beach.

I am 27 years old and traveled with my boyfriend to Spain in February 2010. This was off season so the weather was a little chilly (around 60 degrees F/15 degrees C) and the resort wasn't packed and the pool was empty. This was the perfect time for us to go since we were looking to sight see and avoid crowds.

ROOMS/CHECKIN:
The check in process was quick and the staff was VERY friendly. The room was beautiful with everything we needed for our one week stay. We had a balcony that looked out to the ocean which was great! The kitchen was small but allowed us to cook our own food to save some money. The beds were a little uncomfortable but ok to get a little sleep. My only complaint was that our room was located directly under the club/lounge and was very noisy through the night, made it a little hard to sleep. Thank goddness for earplugs!

AROUND THE RESORT:
There are a ton of little pubs and restaurants. Most employees speak english which was great because my spanish is terrible. The majority of restaurants are british but there is a little of everything. The beers are cheap and the varity is plentiful! There is a HUGE grocery store right across from the resort where you can pick up anything you need from food to medicine to toiletries and drinks. The beach in front of the resort is non exsistant but a short walk will take you to a nice beach with beautiful water.

EXCURSIONS:
During our trip we visited many places by car. I would recommend Malaga (lots of shopping and restaurants), Torremolinos (cute town with great shops and views), Grenada (visit the Alhambra), Gibraltor (the rock of gibraltor), Rota (my personal favorite), Seville and Ronda.

I highly recommend this resort during the off season. It was a great home base to drive around and see southern Spain. With many things to do around the resort, great clean rooms, beautiful views and a friendly staff this would be a great pick for anyone looking for a family vacation, a honeymoon, or get away with friends.
