“Excellent Holiday Hotel”
Reviewed 18 June 2012

Upon arrival the hotel staff were very attentive and pleasant. The service throughout was excellent. The room had 2 double beds and still quite a lot of room although there were only the two of us. Minor repairs were needed mainly to areas of the skirting boards but did not have a detrimental effect on the holiday. Because the hotel is between the beach & the main road the traffic noise is noticeable. The gardens are extensive and contain 2 large pools & 2 children's pools. The hotel has 4 panoramic elevators giving excellent views. The food was good with a fantastic choice from the buffet and was warm & quite acceptable (a microwave is available to reheat if required) The walk along the promenade is very nice and a 45 minute stroll can take you into Torremolinos. A bus to Torremolinos is 1.40 euro. In general a great location 5 minutes walk from the marina shops & bars. The hotel bar on the promenade is very reasonable and an ideal place for a bit of relaxation 'people watching' after a good day out. Plenty of places to visit and a bus stop just outside the hotel. A good day out was to get the bus to Arroya and take the train to Malaga returning, by train, to Torremolinos and walking back to Benalmadena. We will certainly return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a south facing room or one closer to the beach as the traffic noise can be heard during the...

i have stayed here at least 10 times now and, find it the best value for money, only 10 mins from malaga airport , about 23 euros in a cab. the food is exceptional with something for everyone, and full board available june july and august. try to stay in the main building where reception is, i could tell you the best rooms to book but then i would have to kill you, dont settle for a room towards the road try to get nearer to the beach, lovely views lovely beach lovely walk along the prom, and a great little bar called buddys in the square next to the hotel

I didn't know what to expect of this hotel.
The Triton complex exists of 2 main terracotta concrete buildings of 9 stories high. The check in went very quick but i understood very quickly that 4 stars were not in place at Triton.
The average customer i could see in the hotel was 65 or older. Some peope were drinking something in the bar but no music was playing.
The room was clean and big but every single personal touch was missing. The room was based on the 4th floor near the elevator. The window was closed but we could hear all the noise from the street side. Our room had lateral seaview but to be honest, our frontal view was terrible.  The terrace from the room was nice but almost unuseable because of the traffic. The pillows from the bed were very flat. The bathroom was spacious and clean, although had no personal touch or whatsoever.
Wifi was for free in the hotel, but only accesable from the lobby, bar and wifi zone. Although i couldn't get any connection in the wifizone.
The gardens around the pools(2 major and 2 baby pools) are well maintained and they offer 2 child friendly swimmingpools. There are enough sunbeds offered but some did need repair or cleaning.  For the beachtowel you need to deposit 10 euro which will be paid back when you return it. Although i was surprised that you'll need to pay for everything extra, like the use of the tenniscoart, the safe in your room.
Service in the hotel was ok but not worthwhile 4 stars. The minibar was not re-filled. Staff at the breakfast and diner buffet hardly could say a word.  With regards to breakfast and diner, this was mainly set up by a 2 miles buffet that didn't end. The offer of food was huge, the quality ? This kitchen is mass kitchen, even the coffee and 'so called' orange juice is 100% industrial. For coffee and or orange juice you even had to stand in-line, speaking of 4 stars?
This hotel should be reviewed with regards to star ranking. The big advantage this hotel has is its location, near the beach and the sea.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with frontal seaview or a room with view on the swimmingpool near the beach. Avoid a...

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. Lovely location right on the beach. Food good. Staff very friendly. Weather amazing. Lovely promenade for nice walks. Would visit again. I have stayed at Las Arenas & Scirocco but this one was nicer.

The hotel has been very well modernised and has lovely gardens with two great pools. The Food choice is wonderful and well prepared. The staff have that welcome and attentiveness we were used to 20 years ago in the Costa del Sol and if you want to escape the garden gate opens on to what is a much imprived promenade. We were delighted to find at Santanas sports bar along the promenade the good old coffees and brandies were only 5 euros for the two of us and a litre of Rosada only 5 euros. We used to come here regularly but Spain becam so expensive but now it seems as cheap as it ever did and the weather was magnificent.

Room Tip: Ask to be in the main block but views are not too important unless you are fairly room bound. The vi...

We stayed at Hotel Triton for a week in April – we were lucky to get solid good weather throughout and overall found our holiday to be very enjoyable.

The hotel was very good, and the grounds amazing. Many people have commented that the décor is outdated and old, but I disagree – the style of the hotel is more orientated towards wood panelling and the like, so no negatives to report. The grounds were very well kept and very attractive. The pools were amazing also – probably the cleanest I’ve ever encountered. There are more than enough sunbeds for everybody and plenty of choices for space even later in the day. The glass lifts are a very nice touch as you get an amazing view looking out.

We stayed in room 500 on the 5th floor over the tennis courts. From our balcony we had a view of everything – beach, pool, tennis courts, the main street and the mountains. Although we were as close we could be to the main street, the noise at night was minimal and didn’t disturb us at all. The two double-beds (one each) were actually very comfy, and the room included all the usual amenities: a modern TV (only English channel was BBC World News, but you don’t come away to watch TV), fridge, bath/shower, toilet and bidet, hair-dryer, a safe (€2.40 per day) and plenty of storage for clothes, items, etc. The rooms have received negative comments by other users but they are of a good quality that you’d expect from a 4* hotel.

The location of the hotel couldn’t be better. The amazing beach is literally on the doorstep. There are loads of various shops (supermarkets, souvenirs) and too many restaurants to try – the ones we did try were great and fairly priced. There is a shopping centre on the port which was brilliant and sells a whole range of thinks, and there is also a Sea Life centre nearby, which we enjoyed thoroughly for about €30 for two adults.

The food was very good overall, and despite being picky eaters, we ate well every day. I can agree that breakfast is the better meal and has a wide choice of cooked food, savoury items and all the usuals you expect (for half-boarders, the juices are free). The evening meal was also very nice – some people have commented on a somewhat limited choice and unsatisfactory food temperatures – to clear this up, there is a decent choice available, and everything was at an appropriate temperature. Anyone crying ‘starvation’ of ‘food-poisoning’ are being massively over-dramatic.

We used the poolside bar and evening bar for all our drinks. Both were well-decorated and appealing. Soft drinks are €1.50 each and cocktails are between €3 and €5, all which we thought were great and reasonable. We recommend the sangria and the hotel’s own ‘Best Cocktail’!
The entertainment is a mixed bag but Ok overall – there is the usual bingo and the odd quiz, and also different acts that appear on most nights. While we were there we saw a magician and a ‘loro show’ (parrots, birds, owls, etc), and there were more that we didn’t see. The entertainment is more orientated towards families, but enjoyable for all.

We found that the staff were pleasant and did their job well. For those who say that the staff are rude and unaccommodating, I can tell you the reason – most of the guests we encountered were horrible themselves. No manners or courtesy, and I found that staff treats you how you treat them, which I think is bang on. They also like it if you throw some Spanish into the mix – I know and used quite a bit and some of the staff were pleasantly surprised!

We are definitely considering returning in the future and have recommended it to the parents! Only the mega-fussy will find major fault with the hotel, and the rest will enjoy it for sure!

Room Tip: Rooms numbers are from 100-140, 200-240, etc. The 100s on the 1st floor, 200s on 2nd floor, etc. Roo...

This was our first 'half board' holiday, after 20+ years of self-catering in a variety of apartments along this beautiful stretch of the Spanish coast. I couldn't fault the hotel in any way. Superb location with gardens leading directly to the beach, rooms kept spotless, and having caught an offer with lowcostholidays.com it was terrific value. I notice some reviewers complained about food quality. Certainly everything was not to my particular taste, but every day there was a host of lovely, varied dishes and I would defy anyone not to find a substantial meal to enjoy. The fresh fruit was wonderful, the goat's cheese superb, the ice cream excellent. On different evenings we had tasty roast beef, pork and chicken. I even tried a burger which was good. Yes, they do cook the fish very lightly, but you can ask to have it cooked longer on the hotplate in front of you. Omlettes, crepes, cold meats, cheese, yoghurt, salads, potatoes cooked in a variety of ways. It's not five star cuisine but it is very good. The room was lovely and meticulously kept, twin queen-sized beds were very comfortable and the balcony with sea view spacious. Any staff we dealt with were friendly. We plan to return in October.

Room Tip: Bus fare (bus stop opposite hotel) to Arroyo for the local market is €1.40. A taxi (from the rank b...
